Summary
This is an article based on exclusive research on increases in the relative abundance of mid-tropic level fishes concurrent with declines in apex predators in the subtropical North Pacific between 1996 and 2006. The topic of study is based on a sample of 13 most profuse species caught in the deep-set Hawaii situated in the long-line fishery for the past decade from 1996 to 2006. This is aimed at provision of evidence of a change among the top North Pacific subtropical predators.
The catch rates for apex predators like blue shark, bigeye and albacore, spearfish, as well as striped marlin reduced by between 3% and 9% every year and catch rates for four mid-tropic species, sickle pomfret , escorar and snake mackerel got high by 6% to 18% annually. The mean tropic level for the catch for the 13 species reduced by 5% as per the findings. It reduced from 3.85 to 3.66. a shift in the ecosystem to an increase in mid-tropic level, fast growing as well as short-lived species is indicated by the reduction of apex predators in the catch. This is shown by the percentage change from 70% to 40%. However, this is characterized with increase in species with production to biomass values of approximately 1 or larger in the catch. This increase ranges from 20% to 40%. However, this altered ecosystem may indicate more sequential variation in response to climate variability.
The reliability of a research is usually based on the results of the result. In this case, the research was carried out by extremely reliable and proficient researchers. The logbook as well as observer CPUE time series for the 13 species used showed that statistically fundamental linear trends in slopes (p<0.05) for 9 species where 5 were declining and 4 increasing trends. Albacore tuna, bigeye, blue shark, striped marlin, and short-bill spearfish all indicated reducing CPUE trends. On the other hand, yellow-fin tuna, jack tuna, ono as well as lancet fish indicated minimal significant trends. These results indicate that the researcher was extremely keen in ensuring excellent results for the research.
This article is based on exclusive analysis of extensive research techniques or methods. In research, the design is extensively fundamental. The result of the given research depends on the method of research used by the researcher. In this case, the researcher used a sample of various kinds of fish. This is an indication that the research would not be biased in any way. There was enough space for error identification as well as correction. Fast growing and short-lived species were used in the article as a representation of the keenness of the researcher in ensuring minimal bias in the research. The sample chosen is an indication of brilliance and expertise in research analysis. This is based on the ability to have a chance to balance between the favored species and the undermined species. The number obtained for the research aims at ensuring that research trend is maintained. This is the trend that indicates the excellence of the research that was being carried out. In this case, use of time series analysis is paramount as it indicates excellence of the researcher in data analysis as well as formulation of conclusions. The findings of this research are reliable as they help in formation of a trend that will make it easy to analyze the data given as well as make an outstanding presentation.
