The Paramute is a non-governmental organization in the United States of America that deals with assisting disabled people to lead better lifestyles. The organization was started in 1970 and has a staff of 450 people. It has offices in several States. This is because the organization seeks to provide services to grass-root levels so as to address the issues effectively. The organization depends on donor funding for it to run its operations. Although a young organization, Paramute has intentions to expand its operations to other countries.
The organization has however faced several challenges. Corruption and embezzlement of funds by the top managers is one such challenge that has threatened the success of the organization. Lack of transparency and accountability has seen a number of people lose their hope and faith in the organization’s practices. It is essential that such challenges are addressed to ensure that its operations are smooth.
Main services, products and activities the organization offers
The organization offers to the public a number of services and activities. For a long time, people with disability have been discriminated and their rights have been violated. This inhuman treatment such people face contravenes the basic human rights that all human beings should be accorded. Although most of the disabled people are immensely talented, nobody has given them the chance to exploit their talents for the benefit of the society. This organization engages in activities that can create awareness to the society to appreciate the disabled persons. Apart from this, it gives the disabled people a platform to express their ideas and put their imaginations in practice. By empowering them, the organization manages to make the society a better place. The organization also seeks to educate the public on the importance of appreciating each other in the society for peaceful co-existence. Apart from this, the organization sponsors the needy people and disabled to go to schools to get education.

As already argued above, corruption is the major challenge that the organization faces. This practice takes place in all levels of administration where some leaders seek to enrich themselves, contrary to the expectations. Corruption takes place in various forms. For instance, available information reveals that leaders engage in corrupt activities when hiring new staff. Normally, employing new staff members should be done on merit, based on one’s suitability and qualifications. However, it has been proved that leaders receive bribes before hiring people. Other managers have a record of hiring people related to them. This threatens the operations of the organization as best practices are ignored. Awarding and promoting of employees has also been significantly affected by corruption. Top managers promote employees not basing the promotions on the criteria laid down. Embezzlement of funds is also a major challenge. Managers divert money meant for development to their accounts, paralyzing the activities of the organization. This is detrimental to the organization’s success.

The problem of corruption has existed in the organization for quite some time. There is no information as to the specific period that corruption started, but there is a big concern on how the organization’s funds are spent. Over the past ten years, there has been a trend whereby the company has lacked adequate funds to run its operations as budgeted. This is despite the constant support the organization receives. The available records indicate that the organization loses up to $50 million annually to corruption-related practices. This trend has significantly increased over the past ten years.

The period of time required to conduct out a performance evaluation depends on the available records and the magnitude of the organization (Carroll, 2001). The evaluation involves collecting all the available data about the organization dealing with the organization’s expenditure. It is important that during this time, all the top managers be ready to provide the necessary information required to carry out this evaluation. With their cooperation, the exercise will take three months.
What the evaluation will assess
The evaluation seeks to assess the credibility of the leaders and their spending records. It is a fact that most leaders in this organization attained their positions through corrupt means. The evaluation will include scrutinizing them keenly to determine their suitability (Woodtick, 2008). Poor management of the organization has been a result of wrong people without the required credentials being in leadership positions.
