Introduction:
Most employees seek today to maintain the good relationship with their employees and ensure that they improve performance. If the employees had a good relationship with their employees definitely they will invest interest in the future of the company. In this sense beginning my business would call for certain measures that ensure employees are satisfied and motivated. Hence there are essential needs to be met for a person for an employee to be able to succeed in the workplace.
Financial motivation is one vital aspect that should be considered in ensuring proper performance of the employees. This is because good financial allocation to the employees will motivate them even more (Bruce, 2009 p.23). This is in terms of them achieving their own personal goals and the organizational goals. The financial reward is either a cash bonus or a salary raise. This serves as a good motivator to help the employees keep the morale and in addition, be able to meet there personal expenditure.
In additional, as an owner of the business I should consider becoming a good listener. This is both to the personal and employment issues of the employees before taking any action. This is by making the staff have more confidence in me to share their problems. This will increase the organizational performance as well as meeting the goals of the business. These goals include both short and long run goals (Deeprose, 2004, p.26). In addition, it will ensure that employees are actually committed and motivated to go ahead and contribute to the business success and enhance their well being as well.
Security is another motivator that can be used in building the business. This is rather in all senses and actions that are performed within the business entity. This will help the employees feel that their job is actually safe for a longer time. Hence consequently this will help them freely work without considering or worrying what will happen if they lose their jobs. Hence the employees will go ahead and work even much harder since they are sure their work is benefiting the business entity. The security extends to the physical sense. This will motivate the employees by making them feel as they are not in danger while they are at their work places.
As the owner of the business it is important that I provide feedback. This includes acknowledging the employees good performance. This can be done through many ways. An example is rewarding. This is through a complement before other employees or a reward through commission and promotion.
The interview with a local manufacturing company, I got to learn different strategies that can enhance job faction at my company more. The first strategy is knowing the goals and mission of my business entity. This will go ahead to help me to plan both short and long run plans of my business (Emerson, 2008, 54). This will help me understand what I want to get and the number of employees to employ in the business entity.
In addition, focusing on success of the business and making profits should also be a motivating factor. This is by articulating the goals and performance to all the employees and keeps the company transparent.
In conclusion, various strategies will help me make my business make profits and enhance performance. Above all is to focus on the employees’ improvement and performance as that is the pillar to the success of the business.
