One’s identity is shaped by significant past events. What one has lived through determines who one is in the present, for better or worse. As for me, one of the most important and significant events in my life has been the attendance to the Luxepack show in New York due to the fact that it was the culmination of what I had been working for throughout my whole life.
Ever since I was little, I had the dream of becoming a successful business person working with high-end products. I always had a predilection for the finer aspects of life, and these always came in luxury packaging. Thus, I started to work my way towards making an imprint in this society, something that was obviously not easy to do. Even though I had many obstacles, I finally started my own company in China. However, it was not until I went to New York that the importance of my work and accomplishment finally hit me.
Luxury packages come in all shapes and sizes for different objects. Nevertheless, these are usually employed for sumptuous gifts, including cosmetics, fragrances, wine and spirits. Even though I had been inclined towards these packages for years, it was not until I went to the Luxepack event in New York that I finally got a true feel of the importance that these objects have.
Even though this may be a very trying field of action, this event was astonishing, and finally put everything in perspective. The show was awesome, and I got to work at the booth helping people out. This was excellent because I finally got to meet the people I had indirectly been working with for so many years. Being based in China, I had not had the chance to associate faces to the many people that I dealt and negotiated with every day. Nevertheless, this event allowed me to see that there were true people behind these orders and receipts, and that I formed part of a very important industry along with many other exclusive people.
After this event, I was very motivated to continue on the path that I had been travelling throughout these years. It pushed me towards being amazing in everything I do, from work to academics. I finally got the extra incentive I needed to keep excelling at school, because I knew that success was possible. I understood that my dreams and what I had seen in movies could be obtained if I worked hard enough, so I set my mind to it. This was truly great fuel for the rest of my life.
In conclusion, the Luxepack event in New York was one of the defining moments of my life. After wanting to work in this industry as a child, I finally got the chance to brush shoulders with some of its most important people. I now know that through hard work and dedication, I can be an even greater person!
