Numerous complaints have emerged about the ongoing zoning and subdivision in our town, and I would like to appeal for your immediate intervention. The zoning and subdivision activities have prompted the displacement of many people. Surprisingly, most of them have not been resettled. The developments have also blocked some roads in the town, thereby leading to serious traffic jams in the remaining city roads. People have been displaced from the neighborhoods they have called home for numerous years, and the scenario has triggered discontent among affected communities. Schools and houses have also been demolished without any form of compensation. Furthermore, properties worth millions of dollars have been destroyed and we are hoping that the county government will reconsider its move and compensate all the affected individuals.
Children from the affected areas have not gone to school for several days, which may adversely affect their academic performance. Moreover, there is a possibility that the displaced individuals might resort to illegal activities as their small businesses that they used to depend on have been destroyed. The health and wellness of these individuals is also at risk as most of them have been unable to relocate to better houses. As a result, the affected people are planning for a serious demonstration against the county government. All these undertakings have forced me to appeal for your intervention to avoid further losses (“Spruce Groove” par.10).
Primarily, the losses that the affected people have incurred are causing them a lot of emotional stress. Some individuals have lost everything, and they might end up suffering from depression which may lead to desperation and destitution. The undertaking will also have economic consequences as the productivity the involved individuals will be impacted negatively. Several businesses will also be affected due to the loss of customers. The activities might also lead to a steady increase in the costs of setting up new structures. Moreover, the zoning may also lower the development potential of the affected areas. All these aspects, as well as many other factors, have informed my decision to ask for your unyielding intervention (“Spruce Groove” par.12).
