Provide a brief overview of the history of the internet.
Internet started from the government network that was constructed to be able to withstand nuclear attack. The project was called ARPAnet and in 1969 major universities and researchers were connected to the network. Due to limited access to ARPAnet, other networks are created in 1970’s. In 1983 ARPAnet along with the other networks switches to TCP/IP and, thus, the Internet is born. In 1989 a new set of Internet protocols was introduced by Tim Berners-Lee, the World Wide Web emerged. In 1995 the Internet becomes accessible for commercial use ("Brief History of the Internet," n.d.).
