1. Evidence for Supporters’ Hopes
A- Study by Kimberly in the British medical journal, found that illegalizing the gun controls will lead to more death activities. Another study found that 25 state who illegalized gun controls that “ nine were associated with a decrease, and the remaining showed no association” (Leonard Kimberly, 2016). Those two studies tell us the idea of illegalizing the gun control is not effective and the number of people who use it is increasing because it’s illegal.
B- in the article by Jacob David he mentioned that there is a very small number of people who support the gun control, but the biggest number do not agree with gun control. Also, he stated that a study had shown that the crime percentage had decrease besides the firearms had increased so high. Jacob Davidson mentioned that around “30,000 people have been killed with guns but only 20,000 of them took their own lives” (Davidson Jacob, Dec 1, 2015). That tells us
That gun controls are not only dangerous on others people live also it’s dangerous on the owner’s lives because many of them they end up killing them selves.
C- In the article the president Barack Obama was talking about a mass shooting at UCC in Oregon. This example shows how gun controls are leading to people’s deaths because the country is illegalizing them.
D- In the article, the author mentioned that about 320 people are shoot and killed in the U.S. Owning a gun at home for the safety of the family will lead to more killing activities and risk murders. Also, the author mentioned that we are missing so many parts; we need to understand those missing parts to put the right laws to safety of others.
E- In the article by Liptak, Adam, he mentioned that criminals are the ones are less likely to buy a gun control for criminal activitites. Also, Justice Breyer mentioned that strict laws for owning a gun control will lead to more deaths not less
F- A study in Harvard journal of public and law and policy had found that more guns will lead to more deaths activities and fewer guns will lead to fewer deaths activities. Also, Kates and Mauser mentioned that most high percentage of crimes and deaths, happens in countries with stringent gun controls. That tells us that gun control are not the main reason for people’s death.
G- In the article “We need gun control to stop more than criminals” by Susan Milligan, mentioned that people need guns to protect themselves from others for example: the little Mexican boy who have an easy access to use gun because his family is a family guns, had killed three of his classmates. That why people needs to have gun to protect them selves from other people who have easy access to guns and might lead our lives in danger.
2. Evidence for Supporters’ Fears
A- In the article by David Furm, mentioned that legalizing owning a gun and take it with you everywhere you go is something should not happen, there is a small chance that something wrong will happen like rapping etc. but what about others people lives. Americans supports gun rights but there will be a very strict new law regards owning a gun after the Aurora shooting.
B- David Welna the author of this article, cited that many Americans wants to own a guns and they think that the gun is not the main reason for the death crimes also, people are saying they need it for protecting them self (self-defense) from the criminals. The government will put laws to give the citizens the right to have a gun but at the same time there will be an identifying system where he can tell if this person have a gun or no. On the other hand the government will not allow the citizens to take guns to public places like: bars etc..
C- In the article alternet “Feeling safer is not being safer.“ the author said that two-thirds of gun owners says that they feel safer because they own a gun to protect their lives, when in real the studies shows that those people who owns a gun their life is more in danger than those who don’t own a gun. Also, those families who owns a gun because of the fear of what media is showing them they turn to use the guns on the wrong people like; the people who lives in their home instead of criminals.
D- Davidson Jacob cited in his article after the shooting that had happened in Colorado, the president Barack Obama wanted to stop the violence of gun deaths. According to the study that about 351 mass shooting in the U.S in 2015 also, 25% of people said that they support strict gun laws and the other side of people who support gun control are way much smaller than those who agrees to the strict rules. New strict rules for gun control might help to decrease the number of deaths.
E- In the article “trust the people” by Kopel, B David he mentioned that owning a gun is a serious danger on people’s life and not all people needs to own a gun. Kopel said that only a small majority of women and black people need to own a gun for self-defense otherwise no one needs to own it because it will lead to more crimes that people make.
F- In the article “Gun control is not the answer” by Robert Farago, He mentioned that when the president Barack Obama said they people need gun controls to safe their life, that this is such a bad idea for the U.S citizens because owning a gun will not stop the criminal from doing his crime and people who owns those guns will lead to more problems than before. On the other hand instead of banding the guns where are giving people the opportunity to do more criminal activities instead of solving it. Having the right to own a gun to everyone is a way to complicate the crimes more.
G- In the article “The real reasons Americans oppose gun control” by Greg Jones, he stated that people don’t need guns even though there are crimes had happened and there are some situations needs a protection. As he stated that “crazy people get guns not us” (Greg jones, 2016). He means that we all have fears of something wrong might happen to us but we should not choose the wrong decision to protect ourselves because in return it will be the opposite of what we expected, we will hurt ourselves and put our lives in danger.
