The article depicts the striking down the ban on gay marriage. Bernard Friedman, the U.S. District judge, so it unconstitutional and it was time to give liberty to a lesbian couple in Michigan-the right for marriage. But the couple must have lived together for eight years. The judge also hoped that the children of same-sex couples will mature up with admiration for their families and comprehend that they are no diverse than other families in their society. This move generated a hot debate, whereby, experts presented their thoughts on the action, but the judge dismissed much of their testimony presented. He argued that ethical dissatisfaction was not sufficient to validate the decree.
According to my stand, all people should be given a chance to make their own decision when it comes to choosing their life time partner. The society should not intervene when making this responsive decision.

The article depicts attempts that have been put in place by president Obama in trying to guarantee federal contractors recompense women as much as men for the same work. To illustrate the sensitivity of this matter, the president has ordered contractors to report statistics to the government presenting the return paid to workers by gender and race. The democrats have realized that they get more votes from female voters, hence the need to address this issue so as to maintain the support given by this particular group. The president described America as a place that should provide a level playing ground, a place where anyone who’s enthusiastic to labor hard has a possibility to get forward and a fair contest for everybody.
According to my stand, we are living in an era where success is not determined by gender, but the hard work that one’s put in his or her work. It is, therefore, important to accept the fact that we are living in the era of gender equality.

The article contains content such as banning sexual orientation prejudice at communal accommodations. Fear has been generated by some lawmakers who fear that either the federal government or the courts will expand gay rights and other rights in ways that would curb religious sovereignty.
According to my stand, these institutions that have generated fear are just after accomplishing their own gains. If it was enacted, then it would of great help, since it would curb this upcoming behavior especially in the work place.

According to this article, the republicans need to address some fundamental problems if they are ever going to elect another president. The republican’s donors and strategists fear that floating feel spells danger for the party down the path by masking the enduring tribulations that were so obvious after the 2012 election, such as the GOPs terrible performance among the Latinos and the growing power of minority supporters in the battlefield. As a result of this, the republican faces a steeper climb to the presidency. It is noted, from the article, that in 2012 polls, Mitt Romney beat Obama by 20 percentage points among the white voters, but this win was not enough to pave way for him into the White House, since he lost resoundingly among all other racial groups.
According to my stand, the republican must address the rights of all races that make up the United States, and failure to do that will cost them another term out of White House.

This article talks of three, Westminster, Latino police officers who were awarded $3.5 by the federal jury after successfully proofing that they were not being conceded for promotions because of their race- Latino. They were, highly, recognized for, bravely, coming forward and challenging the culture of Westminster- it is noted as a marvelous conquest.
According to my stand, we all have the power to air our grievances, since we do not expect another party to do it for you. If these policemen kept quite out of fear, then their rights for promotion would continue to be abused by those in power.

The article depicts the life of Julie Chavez Rodriguez who currently works in the white house. She is responsible of running Obama’s organization. She supervises Latino outreach as the deputy director of the Office of the public Engagement. Rodriguez has been mentioned as an effective spokeswoman for the president by close friends, such as Medina. Hence, she is a liable leader whose work has been noted by many citizens. Both her personal story and family history make her exclusively capable to help notify policymakers on why this issue on immigration reform is important to both the nation and the economy.
The Obama’s governments is doing a lot in making sure that gender equality is achieved regardless of your ethnicity background.

The article revolves around the life of Deborah who wanted a marriage certificate, but could not get is as a result of the federal judge striking down the state’s gay marriage ban on march 21. Hence, the Michigan officials could not legally recognize her marriage making it impossible for her to change her name on her U.S passport. Michigan attorney by the name of Bill schuette, responded by saying that dropping the state’s appeal would be a negligence of his avowed obligation to protect the state’s constitution, which comprises the elector agreed ban on gay marriage.
It is, therefore, the responsibilities of the Michigan community to bring change as far as gay marriage is concerned. An individual thought cannot alter the norms and values of the entire community.

The article depicts the action of banning adult gay leaders and failure to comply with it, will cost the scout organization from receiving donations offered by the Walt Disney co. from the article, we find that gay people were restricted from the boy scouts, but the restriction for the minors was lifted-the restrictions, now, apply to adult scout leaders.
According to my stand, it is not fair to use threats so as to change an institution. There are other profitable strategies that can be adopted without hurting the feeling of this group of people.

http://www.latimes.com/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-mississippi-governor-signs-religious-freedom-bill-20140404,0’2828373,print.story
The article talks about the Mississippi’s governor who signed into law a measure that allows persons and association to prosecute the regime over laws that they believe frustrate their aptitude to follow religion. The measure has been opposed by some advocates of the gay society and civil human rights, who think that if enacted will direct to amplified bias of both lesbians and gays community.
According to my stand, the community has the power to accept and reject those acts that it sees as in- appropriate. It will, therefore, enhance democracy among the community, since it reduces the chances of passing of laws that end up benefiting those who have-the rich.
