Come
“When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”” (John 11:43)
This passage is the demonstration of the true God, who have power to take people from the arms of death. True man and true God who was crying after Lazarus “When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. “Where have you laid him?” he asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied. Jesus wept” (John 11:32-35) he is also crying when someone is falling to the eternal death instead of life. He is calling us to come out and follow him, but there are not many, who are ready to answer on his call. Nevertheless, as Lazarus were taken away from the death, so we will be saved from eternal death if we will just come after him.
Christ's Invitation to Come
The call for all sinners. For even to the worse one, whose repentance is pure God will give forgiveness. This passage is describing how lovely God is for those who is looking for him. But not only this is described here, but also here in passages of Luke 19:1-10 we can see how the true Christian should act if he had injured someone with any deed or even mentally. “Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.” (Luke 19:8) – This is how true repentance is look like. So if the Christians are following Christ, they should not abuse someone nor embrace someone, but if they will they should act as Zacharias for “faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead” (James 2:17).
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28).
There is nothing more peace giving, than knowing that God is always with you, for as he says in Matthew that he will give us rest, this is about not only rest in fighting world, but also rest in peace with God. Also in another passage in “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food and the body more than clothes.” (Luke 12:22). God knows your needs and he is taking care of you even before you know it. But to understand how this is connected to the Matthew passage, let take a look on one more words “ He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous” (Matthew 5:45). We can conclude that he is giving life needs to everyone, but he is giving grace, glory, peace and resto only to those who are coming after him.
For the weak hearts he is saying come ad dine.
For those who is seeking and who is hunger, he says come and dine. This is not only the invitation to eat with him, but also it means that he will feed the hunger soul. We do know that humans are always looking for something, and as we can say, is always “hungry” for something to put in to the heart. Some people are taking into that place their families, hobbies, or money, but there are no other best variant to fill empty heart than to receive the calling of Jesus to come.
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” (Mark 10:14)
For this is passage is a great explanation for the humans who are not willing to baptize or take too church their kids till the old age. God is saying to let kids to go to him, because for them the heavens belongs. This means that not only adults must seek for God, but parents or elders must take responsibilities on themselves to take their kids to church, so they will come to Jesus, because for such the Kingdome belong.
The John 11
All in all chapter 11 is important for Christians because from this chapter we can conclude several things important for answering. First notice is about pity that Jesus had for his friend. He was weeping and this is very human reaction (if someone close is dying for you). Also we ca see the parallel in this if we will take a dying faith of human. Every time when someone is going away from God, he is crying for the lost soul, and when the sinner is coming back, Angels are sincerely singing anthems “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:10).. And the second thing to notice, is what happened next. Resurrection of the dead man. He had frown the death away from him, and this is amazing for understanding, that death has no power over Jesus (and we can see that he had resurrected on the third day, and this is great news for us.
Revelation 4
In chapter Revelation 4 we can find one more inviting that starts with the words “Come”. Interesting, if John had any variants how to act? If he had chance to say no? Sure, he was able to do that, because of the ability to choose. However, as a highly believing Christian, John had no reasons to reject this offer, so he did entered and he saw all great things that God has shown to him. So if we would not reject such calls, I guess we will have more widely opened eyes to see.
Not coming far enough.
“At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth” (Mark 10:22). Sometimes we are needed to be ready to leave everything we have, in order to follow Gods willing. And sometimes we know that our arrogance might keep us where we are. But that words off Jesus “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” (Mark 10:21) is the remembering that actually our life on this sinful planet is extremely short so why would we collect treasures on Earth, if we will lose life in Heavens. We should live only to the glory of God. This passage is meaning not that we must be poor, but it is demonstrating that first we must care about Gods Kingdome, because only this way we will receive eternal life.
