Extracurricular Activities and Multi-Disciplinary Degree
Among other great opportunities, years of studies allow us to participate in extracurricular activities. Extracurriculars are popular with students: the majority of us are involved in clubs or student organizations, work study experience, internships, study abroad, living group experiences, cultural events, sports events, etc. Each of us can benefit greatly from this kind of cultural tradition of studies and develop depth, breath, and integration of our multi-disciplinary degree.
It is a great pleasure for me to have been participating in a wide range of extracurricular activities our student live offers us. I have had chance to be involved in a few wonderful student clubs and organizations of different focuses from art to science. I have had a volunteer experience. I have always been fond of any sports activity. I have worked on the organization of some cultural and sports events, and have taken part in many such events.
Analyzing my activity outside of class I can say that I feel a great interest in almost everything that can develop a sense of creativity and involvement. I believe the most fruitful extracurricular activities for me are those led by experienced mentors and conducted in a friendly atmosphere.
But specific skills and abilities extracurricular activities are intended to develop, they have let me gain skills and knowledge that are often not available in class but are very important to be prepared for the challenges of the future. So due to my involvement in extracurriculars I have acquired, among other things, certain social skills, ability to interact well with others, to work as part of a team.
Extracurricular activities are often a shift of focus from intellectual activity to something else (for example, creative or physical activity), a shift from a strict school environment to a more relaxing and casual climate, a change of scenery and social circle, a way to find new friends who share common interests, passions and ambitions. That is why my activity outside of class is a good rest, fun and pleasure for me. Extracurriculars give me an increased charge of energy and fresh emotions.
Extracurricular activities never prevent me from studying hard and getting good grades. To the contrary, they eventually encourage me to be more successful in class. Extracurriculars contribute to forming my positive attitude to studies, develop my motivation for studies and improve my academic performance. I do not want to leave my activity outside of class even when I face a very tight time line in my studies, because I think I would feel losing the game then.
Moreover, I believe extracurricular activities allow me to feel better about myself as a student and as an individual in general. My engagement in extracurriculars has a great impact on my multi-disciplinary degree and boosts my self-image and self-esteem. Due to my participation in extracurricular activities I feel more integrated in my student community and society at large.
Thanks to participation in extracurricular activities I can do what I enjoy and what is interesting for me, to get better, and to achieve new objectives. Extracurriculars help me to feel and to develop my strengths and positive attributes, reinforce faith in myself and in my abilities, encourage self-improvement, form responsibility and self-reliance, improve time-management, purposefulness, independence, and initiative. Becoming harmoniously advanced I am getting more confidence in society as a whole. Extracurricular activities for me are the right course towards success in my future live.
