The University of Central Florida, Rosen College of Hospitality Management has given me a platform to showcase artistry and creativity in the field of event planning, event designing and decoration. I have made a lot of sacrifices and compromises to achieve today where I am, and still I know I have to go a long way. To get enrolled in college, I have to leave my native land, and it was never an easy decision. However, I believe that I took the right decision for my career. Studying at Rosen College of Hospitality Management has given me the right platform for my career, and now it is high time that I should go further ahead in my life. If I analyze my life today, I am having difficulties in ending both ends meet and for this particular reason; I want to apply for this scholarship offered by The National Association for Catering and Events.
I have lived in different countries and have lived in diverse cultures. Living with people from different cultures has helped me in making an improved person. I have learnt a lot, and this has helped me in applying my skills at different event management programs. I planned to complete my degree with majors in Event management. I have my objectives in my life, and I am striving hard to achieve my goals. I plan to get involved in the hospitality industry, and after studying from the college, I want to an event designer and decorator as well as someone who is involved in event management and planning. Event management is exciting and thrilling. It has become highly critical to manage the events in the best possible manner and, therefore, managing events has become an art as well as science. Thus, it requires individual to use their knowledge, creativity and come up with ways to make the event electrifying for the audience.
It is not only just the faculty, and facilities available at the University of Central Florida, but the student life is also lively. Students studying at the University of Central Florida enjoy socializing, and the college provides an appropriate stage to do so. With people from different parts of the world studying at the University of Central Florida, it helps to learn about different cultures, what people from different backgrounds think and believe and many other things that are essential for an event manager to know. College has helped me in building and strengthening my networks, and this will assist in future. There are around 400 clubs and organizations at the college, and this has given many opportunities to me to participate and organize different events at the college level and practically experience the art and science of event management.
The combination of interior designing and event management will give me an edge over others. I have always been fond of decoration; I have years of experience for designing high-design events, I am highly passionate about designing and am experienced with some interior architectural creative practices. In addition to this, I am a social person and have the ability and confidence to speak and lead people. Moreover, I possess exceptional negotiation skills that can facilitate me in making a successful event manager. I am highly motivated person and I strive for creativity and efficiency. I believe considering my skills, experiences and my passion for event management and hospitality industry, the college would select my application for the scholarship and would give me the opportunity to show what I can do.
