The Aristotle, Poetics defines the dance as the physical implication of a pure experience.The physical movement works to arouse the emotional experience that can be associated with the abstract idea that is posed by the scenario. The dance serves as a representative of an intellectual or an emotional feeling that was not physically represented. The bodily experience of the abstract ideas helps in a long way to forming the idea that is intended to have been passed from the inner of beings. The feeling of amusement of the innate feelings gives the soothing feeling of being humans endeared to our very own emotions. Expression of this inner emotions heals the soul.
The Indian treatise defines dance as the aid that supplements the wholesome idea of comprehending the narrative that is being presented. The meaning that would have otherwise not have been understood is brought to light. The correct expression of the hand gestures, posture, eye contact and coordination with the music supplements the passage of the emotional aspect of the narrative and give it the meaning that it deserves to pass along
UCSB Dance 45 describes dance as the additive contribution of time, energy, and space. This is the core factors on which dance is built upon. Movement characterizes the synergistic combination of the various factors .The dance itself does not bring to existence its importance .However dance gives a platform for its intention. Dance is a paramount way in which we convey our emotion in their totality therefore providing a healing and soothing effect by revealing inner feelings.
The modern American concert dancers wanted something different from ballet because they wanted to include the fluidity of nature in their art for example Isadora's Duncan revolution was driven by impulse rhythm from nature. The Americans wanted to express in movement the necessary of life instead of telling a story instead of character choices and situation. The Americans wanted their own methodology. They viewed the ballet as of Greek origin. They wanted to recreate what was lost through dancing. They wanted to capture the emotion of the people through re-enacting episodes of the past.
The new dance style was agitated by an increase in the depression brought such as economic depression brought by deteriorating economy for example in 1930's when the United States of America's stock prices failed. The radical dancers tried to regain consciousness by dramatizing the economic, social, and political crisis of their time. Modern concert dances, unlike ballet, are characterized by free styling, rapping, looping and beat boxing. Most of the context are based on the real life experiences usually experienced through hard life. The modern concert dances are greatly accepted among the youths and other classes, unlike the ballet which was associated with a group of people sharing a common political, social or personal endurance. Modern art shows freedom of expression.
Modern concert dance blends the various types of dances such as ancient ballet, tap, and jazz to help eliminate the boundaries of dancing. Modern show dancing helps in unifying the people of the world. Modern dance brings people together regardless of nationality, gender and race give room for artistic expression in restoring social conscience among the people of the earth. As compared to the Greek ballet dance that was confined to it origin and not to other people across the world
Modern concert dance does not use the body of its aesthetic illusions. Instead, it uses the body as an accurate tool to indicate the ugly reality of life as well as its beauty to portray the otherwise amusing side of life. The various body design is used to anaesthetize of the genre under subject. The body shape symbolizes the context of dance. The body movements can be provocative and in their form and indicates body's sensibility on youthful vibrancy.
The American concert dancers managed to revolutionize the art of dancing. This is because many dancing schools arose after the world war two. The middle-class citizens in the United States appreciated dancing and inquired more on dancing. Many philosophers appreciated the change in the concert dance. Dance was treasured and used to entertain in theaters and social functions. With changing in socio-economic life, dancing has to change to suit the dynamic word .The modern dance has it based on ballet.
