In the analysis, planning and design phase of the project, the plan of the solution that is to be developed. The team that is dealing with the project is engaged and the resource planning begins. The most important part during the analysis, planning, and design phase is to ensure that the preliminary requirements are completed successfully. The effort on this step depends on the project since the projects vary. The most important participants in this phase are the project owner, project manager and the functional lead of the project. This is where the lifecycle of the project begins and the details of the deliverables are broken down into detailed business requirements. This phase dictates the direction the project and strategy documents for the project are made to ensure that focus and direction are maintained at all times.
The main task on this stage is gathering the project’s requirements which involves more than just writing down the users’ requirements of the project. The main task is getting a clear, carefully defined process that the project needs to follow. The course consists of processes that makes use of certain techniques, documents, communications, and managing requirements. Even though the main focus in the analysis phase is gathering requirements, there are more activities that are included in the planning and analysis as well. Creating a requirement management plan is important as it states how the requirements of the project will be documented, how it will be communicated, tracked and lastly changed throughout the project’s lifecycle. Setting of the direction of all tasks that are to be done at a later date is important and is achieved by having strategy documents. In this phase, most of the work is done by the project analyst.
An ERD is a visual illustration of how different data is related to one another and how is it associated with the databases in IT and software engineering. They are used on designing stage of the development process. During this process, there a several steps that are involved and these include a customer login, creating a user that shall be stored in the databases and enjoying the shopping the wide variety of products. The stored information will help the customersto get what they are looking for and related products that meet similar requirements. The attention of our customers will be increased by sending an SMS once a phone number is provided, and e-mails. The process of shopping is by a car service delivery to the address provided in less than 24 hours from the time the payment has been made. Once the customers go to the payment section, a secured program will provide an array of payment methods ranging from cash, K-Net and, if the customer requires it, a debt program, where they are capable of paying installments at their convenience. A billing address is requested on every order and a contact number to get in touch with clients once the order is delivered as a way of informing them. An ERD representation of the process is shown below:
In this system, the tables should be designed in a way that all the information that is required by the system in order to run correctly is identified. This includes the entire customer’s information, the ordering details, and the inventory details. These details are important in order to make sure someone does not order a product that is not in the inventory as well as entering insufficient details when ordering a product or a client entering insufficient details. These tables should also have a relationship between them so as to link the information in all of them so as to provide relevant and accurate data. Relationship in databases are important as it prevents data redundancy. The data in the database should be synchronized in order to enforce integrity between the tables. Referential integrity relations in databases ensure that information that is stored in one table is exactly as the information that is in another table. For instance, each product in the orders table must be associated with a precise product in the inventory table. This ensures that the product cannot be entered in the database again or it already exists in the database.
