What is the purpose of the organization?
Dayton organizational has many roles which are carried out daily in the organization. Their main goal is provision of fresh food stuff that is healthy to a designated group referred to as “Food deserts” throughout the region at an affordable price.
Information about the health food choices and recipe preparation are important and is also another role of the organization.
The organization also plays an important role in providing people of Dayton with fair prices especially on foods that they do not produce like; fresh red meat, white meat, dairy products, the non-perishable items, and refrigerated groceries to the desert food regions.
How long has it been in existence?
Dayton organization has been in operation for less than a year and it has received considerate contributions from various groups including their partner university, and that has been a great success.
How many employees are in the organization? Entity/divisions?
Because the organization carries out different organizational activities in various parts of the country, it was necessary to have a number of employees affiliated to the organization apart from the partnering students, where between 15 and 20 people are on the management team.
There are other employees who are located in different parts of the country to offer different services that are not management duties.
Where do they receive funding?
The organization receives funding from different sources but mostly their partners who include the Wright State University masters of public health program and up Dayton. They also receive funding from numerous local organizations and from a clinic called Nashville Mobile Market in which they believe their success will be celebrated in Dayton.
What are the nutritional needs of the target population?

What are the causes of these nutritional needs?
The causes of these nutritional needs are; inadequate access to food, high costs, and limited education to the group.
What are the health and nutritional related services that are provided through the organization/ agency?
There are different nutritional products provided by the Dayton agency which include; production and distribution of lean meat, dairy products, and perishable items in refrigerated trucks which are ferried direct to the food dessert communities. The market of the food dessert will be open to accept cash and credit to the services.
They will put in place an aisle bus that that will facilitate the purchase of foods that the mobile market has purchased from the wholesale.
They have gardens which are located directly off the bus stop especially at Wright Plaza.
Risk factors and causes of poor nutrition outcomes
Socioeconomics such as religion, cultural beliefs and values, then the lifestyle and religion of the people
Cultural problems associated with dietary influences.
Dietary challenges related to environment
Disease- related factors that make nutrition hard such as allergies and diabetes.
What are different public and private resources available in the community in terms of nutrition?
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the main resource
The other one is FNEP
The community health advocates
WIC which is a group of women children, and the infants
Food assistance provided by the gospel missions
Food assistance from the house of assistance
Finally, house of bread food assistance and the Dayton St. Vincent de Paul
What is the coordinators vision for future nutrition interventions to address some of the nutritional needs?
The organization has a bright future which entails and aims at providing chance for the food desert communities to have an opportunity to purchase fish and healthy produces at affordable prices.
