In the United Kingdom, the trend is the travel happiness index. The Airlines are employing this initiative to measure the satisfaction through the happiness scores. The airlines are moving away from the commoditization of the air travel, and the schedule only and price decisions. The trend in Europe is the Peer-to-Peer travel of the next generation. Most of the Europeans are seeking cheaper options of travel to counteract the continued austerity. As such, the range of accommodation in Europe is diverse. Tours, guiding and travel experiences are being offered by various sites. There is also a considerable growth in the car services in Europe. In the Middle East, low-costs are going upmarket. Most of the consumers in Middle East have penchants for luxury. As such, there is an introduction of luxury services in the tourism and travel industry. In Africa, the trend in tourism is the introduction of child-friendly safaris where the children can accompany their families in safaris to view the big five.
There is a trend in the travel technology in the tourism industry. The trend is the mobile concierge. Moreover, the world is becoming a global village. Therefore, there is an increase in the demand of vacancies and accommodations.
Possible Outcomes of the Trends
The trends in the tourism industry will have possible outcomes on the tourism industry and other industries such as the economic industry. First, the trends will put pressure on the tourism industry. Organizations in the tourism industry will develop measures to keep up with the emerging trends in the fast growing global industries (Mieczkowski 28). The pressure will also extend to the travel industries. Organizations in the travel industry will have to establish techniques that will satisfy the customers in relation to the trends in the tourism industry.
The trends in the tourism industry will also improve the customer satisfaction in the industry. Most of the trends in tourism aim to enhance the customer preferences in their operations. Therefore, there will be increased efficiency and effectiveness in the tourism industry. The increased customer satisfaction will also intensify the operations of the industries by influencing the tourism organizations to conduct research on consumer preferences. Another outcome of the trends is the increase in the profit margins of the tourism industries.
Effects of the Trends to the Development of the Tourism Industry
The emerging and existent trends in the tourism industry will improve the tourism industry in various ways. First, there will be an increase in the efficiency of operations in the tourism industry. Communications and infrastructure will develop considerably as a result of the trends. That is, the emerging trends also affect other industries like the travel industries. As such, there will be an increase in forms of travel and accommodation opportunities in the industries.
There will be increased development with the increase in the numbers of consumers in the industries. Since most of the trends revolve around consumer satisfaction, adoption and execution of the trends in the operational functions. Therefore, the tourism industries will increase in development (Kibedi 30). The increased number of customers and technology measures in the operations will lead to increased profit margins that can be channeled in the development of the industries.
My Position
I agree with this article concerning the trends in the tourism industry. First, I think that the trends have positive effects on the tourism and travel industries. For instance, the trend of including children in safaris is a trend in Africa. The inclusion of the children increases the number of customers visiting the tourism sites. As such, there will be an increase in the revenue of the tourism organizations, which will result in increased development in the industry.
Learning Experience
The knowledge of the trends in the tourism industry and the effects of these trends to the tourism organizations will be important to me. I will use this information to analyze the various aspects that could influence the trends in the tourism industry. In will also use the information to outline various implications that the trends could have on the tourism industry.
Implications
The trends will transform the tourism industry through the introduction of effective measures of customer relationship and use of technology in the functional operations in the tourism industry.
