Technology is a living being. It is evolving as time goes. In the beginning, during the Mesopotamia evolution, the type of technology was only regarded as unconnected technologies. The technology is increasingly mutating and maturing to become more complicated. A certain aspect of growth is not ignorable. The technological advancement has changed from the previously fixed physical outputs to those that can manipulate, combine and configure and for new products. It is not only becoming the part of the production. It is becoming the core of the manufacturing process. It is the focal point the current generation industry. It is controlling the current day's affairs. It is manipulating the people's day-to-day life. It is pushing individuals and, more so, scientists to discover new things. New sources of power, communication methods and means of production are in use thanks to the evolution of technology(Nielsen, 2014). It will, however, be inconsistent and ill-advised ignoring the fact that there has always been a background and roots regarding the current technology.
The bending of objects is an old phenomenon. In the early civilization, people were accustomed to bending of bows which constituted the bow and arrow. The bow when curve to some extent would increase the distance to be covered by an arrow. The bending of the string to an absolute magnitude also increased the distance covered. The bow and arrow phenomenon acted as the tipping balance between two warring communities. It was later widely used all over the world. Even though time has passed, some ancient communities, especially the Red Indians in the United States, are still using the bow and arrow to hunt (Hughes, 2014). The bending of the object can be attributed to some of the significant advancement in technology in the current world which will be clearly shown later as the paper progresses.
The pulley system is an ancient discovery. It was discovered in the early civilization in the old Mesopotamia in their irrigation projects. Wells could be drilled in arid and semi-arid areas which constituted the larger part of Mesopotamia. Most of the locals in these regions had changed their lifestyles from the unreliable hunting and gathering to the now more responsible farming. Farming, however, was not a walk in the park. The lack of water was the major hiccup in the farming. The locals drilled holes, but people had to walk down the holes to get water. The invention of the water pulleys eased their work and increased their output (Andrew World History, 2016). The use of lift was later transferred to the current world which this paper will expand and expound on how the old pulley has been utilized in the present world.
The use of giants and other physically enhanced humans during most of the wars among the ancient nations was not a strange occurrence. One of the most famous stories is the story of David and Goliath where Goliath was a giant and threatened and intimidated the rival armies. Other native nations also have their legends who had 'mystic' power and overcame their opponents (Khanna, 2015). The use of such people has also been translated to the current world which this paper will dig and dwell on how this kind of technology is currently being used.
In the ancient world, the leader of any community had to be the best of the best in that community. As such, the spouse of such a leader had to come from another best of the families with no trace of insanity, physical disabilities, and poor. The children of the leaders and the loyal family, therefore, turned out to be better than their parents and hence better than all other members of the community (Hughes, 2014). As clearly shown, this was an obvious case of cross-breeding. It is, therefore, the aim of this paper to discuss how cross-breeding in the ancient world has affected the current world and how its influence too.
The influence in the current world
The bending of objects is currently being utilized in the visual world whereby spectacle lenses are bending to some degree to increase or decrease the sight distance to a certain level to solve a particular kind of eye defect. For the long sighted people, the curve is on the outward to reduce the distance covered whereas, for the short-sighted people, the curve in the lenses is inward to increase the range. As such, the phenomenon is not new but borrowed and well manipulated (Hughes, 2014).
The pulley system used in the ancient Mesopotamia has been installed in the current world. The place where the pulley system is adversely being used is in the elevators which are making use of pulleys. The use of pulleys in the elevators is during the lifting and lowering of the lift chamber. Pulleys are also being employed in the current days to lift construction materials in the building sector. The pulleys have eased the ease of doing work hence increasing efficiency (Ryan, 2012).
The increasing of one's physical abilities is being actualized in the current day generation due to the massive availability of steroids and another physically enhance drugs. Some technological devices are seeing the light of day enabling human beings to enjoy what they were not made to have. The researchers in the United States are working day and night to make a better 'soldier.' The Lockheed Martin's Human Universal Load Carrier, which makes use of hydraulic-powered exoskeleton which increases endurance, strength, and speed of the soldier on the battle (Hughes, 2014).
Scientists are also banking the in the previously discovered cross breeding of organisms. They are using this kind of technologies to come up with hybrids species. Scientists have also managed to study the genes of an individual species and therefore come up with informed decisions on matters concerning a particular species. They have also been on the forefront discouraging inbreeding since some of the non-dominant factors which are usually poor will be made dominant (Hughes, 2014).
CONCLUSION
In a nutshell, it is not controversial or ill-advised to say that the present world is only implementing the previous historical world had in mind. It is, however, right to note that some of the current innovations being experienced at this time are entirely new. As such, it is prudent to borrow from the former world and make use of what they had in mind for the betterment of the current world.
