Interview conducted for General Perception in public for Stem Cell Research
Interview
Interviewee: I don’t know much about the scientific procedure but as much as heard in the news, I know that they are obtained from the little human embryos. It is very disturbing to know that for their research benefits, scientists are killing little fetuses that could have grown into a human.
Me: Do you know how stem cells are being used in research?
Interviewee: Stem cells are being used for human cloning and trying to create humans with desired features and characteristics. It is completely unethical and destructive for future as a human today is using stem cells to control the life. It is against the laws of nature.
Me: Does a zygote/’early fetus’ have to be destroyed in order to do stem cell research?
Interviewee: As I replied to your first question, yes! Researchers are destroying a human life to extract stem cells.
Me: Do you think stem cell research should be stopped or allowed to continue? Why?
Interviewee: Of course it should be immediately banned and not continued as it is not following the morals of respecting one’s survival and life. It is destroying the entities for its own sake without many benefits. If continued, it will give freedom to produce human clones that will be a threat to human existence and survival.
Me: Are you aware of the regulations controlling stem cell research?
Interviewee: I don’t think people are conducting stem cell research under any regulations. It is an open platform and research is going berserk on these little living entities.
Me: Do you know about the prospects of stem cells in medical field?
Interviewee: As far as I know, stem cells can form new organs and human clones.
