Strengths and Weaknesses—Internal to the Company
Strengths
i) Well equipped- MSJC has adequate facilities which play a greater role in helping the students to fulfill their educational needs and preferences. First, the college has a learning resource center which provides a free tutoring for all its students irrespective of their academic discipline or skill level. This facility is also known for the provision of workshops, online writing support, guides and handouts. In addition, the college is also equipped with a modern library under the name Milo P. Johnson Library which offers various collections of educational materials (Mt San Jacinto College all). Nevertheless, the library has online resources which assist the students in exchanging knowledge with other scholars across the world.
Ii) Develops all round students- Apart from education, the college also engages the students in other activities which help them to fit in the ever changing environment. For instance, the college engages students in cultural activities such as art gallery, performing arts and world cinema. In addition, the college also invests a lot in games such as football, tennis, golf, volleyball and basketball among others. Moreover, the college has a Student Government Association (SGA) which plays a role in organizing college events and activities (Mt San Jacinto College all).
iii) Qualified staff- The college has a strong team of professionals which are involved in a day today teaching of the students. Its faculty members are master instructors who are dedicated to student’s success.
iv) Wide range of disciplines- MSJC has a wide variety of disciplines which help students to make their careers choices. For instance, the college offers associate of science and arts degrees among many others. This disciplines are offered fulltime education or through distance education. Generally, the college offers both vocational and technical programs which enhance their students’ academic success.
Weaknesses
i) Unethical practices among some staff members- some members have been victimized following the unethical conducts. For instance in 2009, the college police was charged with various conducts such as bribery, misappropriation of public funds, and perjury among others (Holmes All).
