Introduction
When a substance is termed as organic, it means that it is produced using through environmentally friendly methods. Ideally, organic substances are not artificial. Organic substances are environmentally friendly. A produce is something that is created. Therefore, organic produce refers to substances that are produced by methods of organic farming. Organic farming does not encourage the excessive use of modern inputs. These inputs include synthetic pesticides and fertilizers that are composed of excess chemicals (Gupta, 2007). Ideally, there is a difference between organic foods and conventional foods. Organic products are produced in compliance with organic standards that are set by the state’s government. Organic methods are grown, handled and processed in an environmentally safe method. It is advisable to maintain organic products in business enterprises because they do not have excess negative effects. Ideally, the taste of organic products is naturally attractive. This property leads to a preference for such products.
Biodynamic is an ethical-ecological approach to agricultural practice. It also includes the ecological approaches of food production, as well as, nutrition. It is designed to ensure that there is a balanced farm-ecosystem, which generates fertility and health. In Agriculture, biodynamic refers to a method of organic farming that encourages eco-diversity control (Ronald, 2008). Firms’ outputs that are presented in the market for sales are preferable. Most of the customers to supermarkets opt to purchase products that do not have a large percentage of chemicals within them. For instance, crops such as Cabbages, which are produced using chemical oriented farming, bring illnesses to people who are allergic to such substances and chemicals. A purchasing representative finds it wrong to present such substances for consumer protection.
Regulations on organic farming
Organic farming has distinct differences between itself and other kind so farming. There are legal approaches that are acknowledged at the international level. These \rules and regulations are known as standards and certification procedures. For example, there exists a regulation that was initiated by the European Union. This union came up with the Council regulations that require the livestock and their products, as well as, the plants to ensure that their practices are legal. Ideally, the rules and regulations that are put across ensure that the procedures of producing organic foods are met. Logically, when the rules are met, the consumer’s risk is minimized (Gupta, 2007). The producer who adheres to these rules is always in a position to market his or her products. The council of regulations is also responsible for creating a framework that set the details of the requirements of agricultural products. Precisely, these rules also consider the ways through which processing, labeling, and inspection of these products are done. Similarly, these rules should apply to the purchasing processes in the supermarket.
Some of the procedures that are considered important include the fact that the plants are not supposed to get contact with chemical inputs. These inputs lead to artificiality in production. Fertilizers and pesticides are mot preferable inorganic farming if there is the presence of chemicals within them. It becomes difficult for willing buyers to purchase such products form the farmers. This can lead to losses by the farmers. Food products are reliable on the customers taste and their health status.
Risk of using pesticides in the growing of produce
Pesticides are functionally designed to kill pests, bacteria, insects and other creatures that result to retarded growth of plants. However, they have negative effects. Ideally, there are two types of pesticides: Biological and chemical. Biological pesticides do not have negative effects. They are developed bacteria and fungi that are modified to react against the already existing organisms that cause poor development of crops. This is a naturally effective method of controlling pests. However, chemical pesticides are hazardous to the life of the consumers (Ronald, 2008)). The biological pesticides are organic. That is, they do not have adverse effects to the consumers of the produce.
Consuming foods from a chemically developed would mean risking health and life. After an analysis of the chemical composition of these products, the conclusion was made that the produce acquired toxic chemical compounds. This conclusion disapproves local efforts to approve of chemically infested crops. Toxic substances are deadly. They can lead to poor health status or death. One of the uninformed organisations is the Codex Aliment Arius Commission. It is fair that consumers receive produce that is organically developed and maintained to ensure better health. This can act as a guiding stone for making appropriate decisions on what products to purchase.
Research findings and conclusion
Most of the produce is supposed to be obtained in terms of farming. However, to obtain better produce, then one has to utilize organic means of production. Organic foods are suitable for the market. It has become difficult to identify the real biological products, and then laboratory tests to determine the composition should be done. It is essential to ensure that the records of what substances have been used in the whole produce life are accessible. This will ensure that there is a positive response by customers on the organic produce that is made available.
