The article has analyzed in detail the introduction of Samsung’s new Galaxy S 4 smartphone and how this will enable the current dominance of Samsung Electronics Company as a the current market leader in the production and sales of smartphones in the global market. The smartphone has advanced features which include smart scroll hardware that allows the user to scroll the apps up and down by looking at it or by use of hand gestures without touching the screen. The phone’s new innovations which includes its capability to share games with Wi-Fi interconnection among other multiple applications are meant to make the life of its potential users ‘simpler and fuller’ according to the Samsung Corporation chairman.
The article brings out some of the factors that had led to the success of the company despite the fact that it had received various challenges from the leading competitors especially Apple Inc. who had sued Samsung for copying their domain patents leading the company to pay damages worth 1 billion dollars. Some of the success factors includes the increase in total smartphones’ export globally ‘the market at 63.7 million which is equivalent to 7 percent’ as compared to those of the close competitor Apple that were recorded at 47.8 million total export. In addition, Samsung products are gaining popularity in the United States where Apple dominates the market.
This shows that the introduction of Galaxy S4 is a threat to iPhone which is Apple’s most preferred smartphone in the United States since it has more advanced features than those of iPhone in addition to enjoying Samsung Company’s market dominance which is not only experienced globally but also the rise in the company products’ use in the US.
