The school has a mandate to instill knowledge and discipline to the student at all times. The “no child left behind act” ensures all schools take part in instilling knowledge to the student. Parents and guardian have entrusted the school for this; they have sent their children to school not only to fit in the society, but also to acquire knowledge. The school’s main responsibility has been to educate students in various fields of study. This paper will explore some of the roles played by the school in its effort to educate students.
The Schools adheres to the government set of education curriculum to disseminate knowledge to students according to the requirements of that government. Firstly, the school determines the behavior and personality of the student through its time with students; one understands the second language at school, guiding and counseling therapies are provided at school (Finkel, 2006). Any trained teacher will use differentiated instructions to match the needs of every student in class in order to meet the needs of all students.
The school provides all the resources needed for the student to acquire knowledge. Apart from course work, the school will equip the student with practical lesson meant to ensure that the student is innovative enough to fit in the current world of modern technology. Practical lessons accompany teachings in science related subjects, units, or topics to demonstrate the theory learnt.
Moreover, the school will instill discipline to the student in a bid to ensure that societal moral are uphold. The school assumes that disciplined students have higher chances of passing their examinations and excelling in life. However, the school can discipline a student within a limit stipulated by the law.
Finkel (2006) states that most talents are nurtured in schools; various schools have been opened to identify and develop talents especially those linked with co-curriculum activities. The school will equip such students will knowledge of drama and acting, singing, sports among other related activities However, the motivation of the student in the activities will determine his success in that activity.
Concisely, the school’s main responsibility is to help educate the student; it instills knowledge and discipline in a student and it determines the behavior and personality of the student. Parents have entrusted the school in the execution of this role.
