I would like to apply for a place on the MSc Security Engineering course at your institution as I am passionate about pursuing a career in this field.
I am due to graduate this May, with a BSc Mathematics from Schreiner University in Texas. During my studies on the BSc course, I have acquired substantial knowledge of computer programing, analysis, and hardware and software configuration. I have enjoyed learning these skills and it is my ambition to follow a career in security engineering. My mathematics degree course has also made use of many computer programs, two examples being SPSS and Matlab.
I would like to continue my education at your institution as it is known to be a private university of a high standard. The college I am about to graduate from is also a small private university, and I enjoy the method of teaching at such institutions.
I am keen to learn the workings of security engineering, and to gain further understanding in computer hardware and software. Originally, software engineering was my first choice of program at your university. However, I chose security engineering as there appears to be a higher demand for it in the employment market. I aim to graduate with a MSc in Security Engineering and then progress to use my acquired skills in the workplace.
I am opting for the off campus weekend format as I plan to get a full time job alongside attending college. By working, I hope to ease the financial strain of being a student and also to gain further experience in the workplace while studying for the MSc.
I am eager to study on this course as I am fascinated by computers and by how they work. I am conscientious and committed to my studies, and am ready to give one hundred per cent on the MSc course in Security Engineering.
