As humans we have the tendency to display all emotions, and resentment is such an emotion in which a person loses self-control. Self-control must be exercised on all our feelings, and not only on anger. Self-Control is a skill that is within us, which is vital all through our life, exclusively in communication. People with better self-control understand the long range consequences of their conduct and actions towards others than compared to the people who have low self-control.
Communication requires interacting with others and if we interact without self-control then we may hurt others, create misunderstandings and conflicts. Exercising self-control builds confidence, improves logical reasoning, develops networking abilities, helps to reduce conflicts, and creates better personal relations. Listening is an important requirement of communication and developing self-control substantially helps to be a calm person and listen to others. Just as listening to the music with headphone and crossing the road on a highway can lead to physical death, similarly a life without self-control leads to mystical death.
Creativity occurs by generating new ideas and by communicating well. Change cannot be considered as the only factor for creativity. A change can happen after the outcomes of creativity. People find it difficult to accept changes easily as they are concerned about the impact of the change on them. I believe that creativity is a skill that changes or transforms the existing conditions for better prospects.
Response to Student 1:
I believe that people who exercise self-control are more approachable and the employees are not in any kind of fear to communicate with such people. I agree that change can have a positive and negative result; however it depends on the perception of an individual based on their previous experiences with any kind of change.
Response to Student 2:
Self-control does help an individual to be calm and control the emotions in times of antagonism, and I agree that self-control is important in communication as people try to analyze the body language of a person before communicating in any means. I find it difficult to agree that change can spawn creativity. Once a change occurs as a result of creativity, it may be acknowledged or overruled depending on the nature of an individual.
