Introduction
Unlike civilians (citizens) military personnel are willingly to defend their country even with there lives. Joining the military is a rewarding and positive move in life. However there are risks involved in joining the military. By joining the military, the high school graduates may be involved in active compact which could cause psychological or permanent physical damage. Fatal physical damage can paralyze individuals or bring to an end their careers. Psychological damage can cause stress and emotional imbalance to the high school graduates.
Psychological damage is dangerous as it may affect the life of an individual. Watching or participating in horror activities not only make an individual fearsome but also affect their social lives. Therefore exposing high school graduates to horror scene in the military will affect their education progress. Once affected psychologically, the high school graduates will underperform in college. Hence even providing them with free college education will be in vain as their performance will be dismal.
After they have joined the military, high school graduates will be taught how to use and handle weapons during compacts. This will have a psychological effect to their lives because it will encourage majority of them to become bad and dangerous people in the society. High school graduates who will fail to succeed in life may use the skills they acquired in the military to form hooliganism groups. Therefore our society will become an unsafe place to live due to the presence of militant groups. The military life is meaningful and dynamic; in future, high school graduates who would enroll in military may become fearless, chaotic and oppressive civil servants. Organizations that will employ such radical workers are likely to be closed down due to indiscipline.
The military training is rigorous and it transforms the live of individuals by making them stronger. This is a good virtue that will help them to easily cope with college life. College life does not fit the weak, as they will be bullied and they may not be able to survive. Nevertheless, military life is not fit for everyone. There are some individuals who are weak either physically and mentally, thus forcing them to join the military will be a torture. Majority of high school graduates are either weak physically or psychologically thus they will face many problems before adapting the military life. The training in particular is very hard for the high school graduates to handle.
In the United States, majority of high school students are below the age of 18 yrs and they are considered children. Many of them have never stayed away from their parents nor have they ever made their own decisions in life. Therefore separating high school graduates from their parents will be suicidal because they are not well equipped to make sound decisions in life. As a result, high school graduates may make poor decisions that will affect their lives for the rest of their.
Separating high school graduates from their parents will stress them as they are not used to stay away from their parents. Relocation is common in military and may further increase their stress as they will never settle in specific place for a longer time. They will keep on making new friends from one location to another. Individualistic high school graduates will be affected by constant relocation as they will be unable to make new friends. Other risks common in military are death, amputation and injury.
