Self and vocation project
Individually, computers and math have always fascinated me. These two subjects will go a long way in influencing the job that I will want to pursue in the future. In my first year, I chose to major in Management Information Systems, as the core proficiencies required for this major is mathematics and computers. The opportunities presented by the study of computer science and mathematics are unlimited.
There are various skills required in while pursuing the career in computer science. I believe that I possess this skill. They include thinking logically. As a child, I was continuously taught the fundamentals of thinking understandably. The capability will allow me to guarantee that I think critically in all my projects to be successful. The other skill that is needed is mathematics. In practically all the other ways, computer science rotates on mathematical foundations. When one is programming and placing commands to computers, the basics of mathematics are applied. According to Khosrow (45), the other proficiency that an individual is essential to have is the capacity to be composed in demanding situations. Students are examined while learning computer science if they are able to run-through large quantities of information in an inadequate period of time. If a person has a desire of functioning under pressure, then learning computer science is the best opportunity. What other individuals find problematic turns into something basic if one is in a position to operate or interfere with the computer platforms like puppets or toys. The other capacity that is needed is the capacity to study from the faults that the individual has done in the previous time and be in a position to ensure that they move on.
There are many aspects of having an education computer science keep the individuals pursuing the course interested. One of the interesting aspects is that computer science has a worldwide appeal and that the ability to have a job in the field is easy. As an individual, I am always interested in the field as this makes me grow as a person and have pride while pursuing the course. The capacity of having a logical and understanding mind enables me to comprehend the computer language in that it is always different. Additionally, individuals with a high computer aptitude are able to think in a systematic way, also in a logical, and in a substantive manner. The instances of job employment are greatly improved by the capabilities that individuals who have studied computer science have.
Cannon (34) notes that there are various advantages of studying abroad. The international student is in a position to widen the manner in which they consider the cultures of the world. This means that a discrete individual is able to explore the different cultures of the other people. As a Chinese student, one is accustomed to the communist way of leadership. When one travels to the United States to study, one is able to comprehend how democracy functions. The different cultures also enable one to have a wider view of how the other philosophies and principles feel. Additionally, studying abroad gives one a sense of pride in that it is prestigious in some countries to have employees who have studied abroad.
In as much as there are many advantages for studying abroad as international scholars in the United States, there are also some difficulties. One of the key disadvantages is the ability to be away from your family. There are few proponents in life who support the fact that when a person lives away from the country of origin, then they are able to forge their own lives and become independent. What the individual had been doing all his life changes. The international students may find the life of the other students from the other different cultures as being very simple or very difficult. Some students just coast through the education system since almost all the necessary essential things in life are provided to them. As an international student, one has to live amongst them and still perform the duties that the other students are not performing and this may lead to some kind of bias. The instances of discrimination may also be a disadvantage in that the international students may be denied work permits and the college rates that they are charged for their tuition is higher.
When inclinations are engaged into deliberation, it is preferable for individuals to study at the country of origin rather than travelling abroad in that the individual can be in a position to save more money than the money that could have cost the individual to study abroad. The instances of difficulties in comprehending the language of the host country also counts as a disadvantage to the international student. The international student may find it difficult to grasp the messages that the lectures pass on to them and that the messages between the international students and the students of the host nation may be misunderstood. The other con is that the students may be stereotyped. When one is judged based on where they come from is difficult to have normal social conversations and this may lead to depressions. An international student may also be shocked in what the other students do in that it may appear as a culture shock. Some countries do not allow the use certain garments and this may deprive the student the comfort of their culture back home.
The social lives of the individuals are mostly spent on their computers whereby the individuals create virtual computer worlds. This may be a basis for lot of problems in that an individual may be able to cause lots of problems to the rest of the population without moving away from the computer. A good instance is whereby an individual is in a position to hack information about other people. Schniederjürgen (67) notes that a good computer science student can misuse the skill set that they have and rob the private information of other people. Additionally, all the unsuspecting members of the society are also at risk in that the individual can rob the credit numbers of the individuals. The computer hacker can also get other private information about the clients that other companies have and misuse such information by posting online some private photos and videos just to mention a few.
This view represents a conflicting view in that some people argue that one should not have such information in their computers in that it is immoral to store such pictures and videos. Some groups of people whose identities and private images have been posted online may be severely impacted in that they may view suicide as the only option out of what they are feel their predicament.
The themes of the social Catholic teachings would depict this subject in terms of the accountability that we as persons have on the greater society. In the catholic teachings, it is the responsibility if the person in charge to ensure that they do not take the property of other people without consent. The individuals who are also found to have stolen the properties have to be in a responsible manner and return the products in a sensible manner. Additionally, the themes also ensure that the obligations that one is given is enough to guarantee the individuals to make decisions and choices that can be attributed to their teachings and their way of life.
My field of study would require, and individual who respects the rights of other individuals and be able to work out some instances of control even if the prospects to take a gain of the vulnerable in the society arises. Additionally my upbringing in my religion never gives me the chance to think of stealing anything are take the belongings of others without permission. As a computer programmer, the viewpoint that I need to implement that one has to take into consideration when the Catholic Social Teachings have is the admiration to the privileges and responsibilities of other adherents of the society. Through collaboration with other students, the international student is in a position to cooperate with the rest of the school members and use whatever they allow me to use and use restriction on what I am not able to get. Professionally, I would be a systems analyst as this position is available in almost all organizations.
