Although the authors made a logical approach towards leadership development, they also ignored some important leadership elements that are crucial for team leaders. The book setting was meant for senior leadership level although some of the details given have less impact on the success of the senior team leaders. To start with, the authors have no comment on how salary level affects the actions of a senior leader. It is clear that if an individual gets poor remuneration, then the work output will also be poor. On the other hand, the book fails to view leaders as individual agents since it never touches on personalities found in different groups in various departments. Personality affects the success of a group and the authors should have pointed out how to deal with individuals leaders take things personal even at workplaces since they greatly affect the productivity of an organization.

Moreover, the authors stimulate negative emotions about the book since they base the arguments on personal views and not reality while teaching on senior leaders. The book also gives definition of leaders as independent in nature, and this brings about conflict of power as one individual tries to show power over others. Finally, the book touches very little on consumer needs since it only elaborates on logistics of a good senior leadership team but fails to touch on negative point of it. The book fails to give solutions to ways and means in which senior leaders can overcome obstacles using their powers (Wageman, Nunes, Burus, and Hackman, 2008).
