CHAPTER 2”YOU MAKE A CALL” P, 63
Ethical reason that justifies hiring Julie
Ethical reasoning which justifies hiring Julie is based on the fact that the lady has great experience in the business. In addition, Julie is willing and able to bring more clients of her own. This means that the sales volume of the business is likely to increase which in turn will result to an increase in the profit margin. Furthermore, Sally describes Julie as the person she has been looking for all along. Actually, the sole aim of the business is always to make profit. However, profit is also determined by the number of clients you have and how creative your workforce is. Therefore, Sally is ethically justified to hire Julie because Julie is likely to add credit into the business. This in turn will result to the business recording higher profit margin compared to the previous one.

The top environmental concerns include: waste, resource depletion, overpopulation, natural disasters and land degradation. This paper will analyse coherently each environmental concern mentioned. The paper will also discuss how the concerns mentioned are likely to affect the small business over the next decade. This part of the paper will also examine the opportunities that are likely to be created as a result of these concerns.
Top environmental concerns for small business
Waste; include the wastes such as litter, landfills and contamination of water that is caused by improper disposal of the waste products and the leaching toxins. This concern is likely to shape the operation of small business over the next decade. For instance, intoxicated water that results from disposal of waste products in water is likely to affect the people whose main business is to sell water. For instance, these people may be forced to incur extra costs in order to make water usable to their clients. As a result of increase in cost of water, the people who sell water will be forced to increase the prices of water. The increase in price is scare away many consumers hence this type of business is likely that it may fail in future.
Resource depletion; refers to destruction of the available resources. As a result some small business will be forced to close down because of either lack of resources or inadequate resources to run the business.
Overpopulation is of great concerns to small business. As the population increases, the demand for particular products also increases in that order. This implies that more small businesses are likely to be opened up in the coming decade in order to cater for the increased demand of goods and services.
Natural disasters are likely to interfere with the resources available to run the small businesses. A disaster such as earthquake also renders some places unconducive for carrying out businesses. This implies that in areas that are prone to earthquake, the number of small businesses available is likely to decrease significantly.
Land degradation is likely to impact negatively on the growth of small businesses if they are not properly checked. This is because land degradation interferes with the available resources which could otherwise been used to support the growth of the small businesses. Therefore, if land degradation is not properly checked, then most small business are likely to close down in the coming decade.
Some of the new ventures which could have been created include: development of industries associated with recycling of the waste products. This will enable young people to get employed. Natural disasters for instance volcanicity is likely to expose valuable minerals on the surface of the Earth. These minerals can be extracted and sold to earn revenue. Overpopulation can lead to creation of more industries in the country. This is because of easy access to labour from the available population. Land degradation. For instance, land dereliction can create sites that attract tourists. These sites can earn a country foreign exchange.
