Parents who have children with different conditions should embrace the various programs that are meant to make their lives comfortable as well as improving their quality of life. Even parents-to-be or parents who are at risk should embrace such programs to be aware of the various risks and conditions that may lead to developments of such incidences that can be disastrous and life threatening to all those involved.
Every parent, whether they are new parents or not face the possibility of facing such incidences as the shaken baby syndrome consequently leading to making uninformed decisions or taking unwarranted steps which might not be helpful in the end. Therefore, the program I will formulate in my local health facility will create awareness and cater for all parents who have babies with this condition.
The program will also come in handy when it comes to providing information about the syndrome, how it comes about and the possible dangers of this situation. It should also offer support to the parents and their children, even after attending the program. Some of the key areas should include how such incident should be minimized if not eliminated. Therefore, this will ensure that parents and children caregivers are fully aware of the predisposing factors that may lead to this syndrome and act accordingly when they have noticed its symptoms.
Patterns of crying in children should be taught so that they will be able to identify abnormal crying by the babies because constant and prolonged crying and fussiness can be irritating to parents and caregivers (Buttram & England 2). Such initiatives should have a complete backing by the relevant stakeholders and governmental agencies to ensure many parents and the general public comes out in confidence to support such schemes which prove essential in our communities. Producing materials and literature are also necessary for such an endeavor, so that parents can have unlimited access to information about this syndrome. Such channels of information may include videos, flyers, magazines and even audio materials.
