I have learnt that, Shakira is a Colombian singer-songwriter, dancer, and choreographer, who spent her childhood in a developing world, where lot of inequality was practiced. People and children were deprived of the basic amenities, and Shakira, a role model for many of these children has been into social service from a very young age, helping them from the time, when she was just eighteen years old. At the age of 4, where children are still in their playgroups, she wrote her first poem, as she was inspired by her Lebanese father, who was a story writer. Apart from singing, she is into various other social activities, and these contributions provided her an opportunity to be the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
I am influenced by Shakira’s multi-talented nature, her willingness and support towards the Education development in her nation. She has also influenced many people through her music and songs. I believe it is the responsibility of the government to conduct programs on early-childhood development; however, it is to be appreciated that Shakira’s “BareFoot Foundation”, was founded with a focus to help poor and underprivileged children, and provide them with early-childhood nutrition, education and medical care. She devotes most of her time and money to these children in Latin America with a goal of providing them good education. Due to her involvement in charitable activities, she was invited by the President of America at his office, and I believe this one of her major achievements.
I was under the impression that Shakira is only a singer, and a dancer; however my
opinion on her changed after knowing more about her dedication towards the upward mobility of education in children in Latin America. Apart from winning many awards and nominations in the music industry, she has also been honored with many awards for her work in humanity and development. I consider Shakira to be perfect in all aspects of her profession, and I also find her passion to learn about new languages and history of the country more exciting.
