My main motivation for selecting the MSGB program at Pepperdine University is the fact that I will not only be able to study abroad but will also be able to get an internship opportunity in a foreign country. I consider the opportunity to pursue study and work abroad as life time opportunities as I will not only develop my global skills and experience but also get a platform to work in a multi-cultural environment. Therefore, my immediate goal is to complete MSGB program within one year and proceed to the internship and study abroad in the second year. Through the MSGB program, I would like to intern in Fortune 500 multi-national company. I expect to gain international experience and also build networks in the process.
My medium term goal is to work in a managerial position in a large multi-national company within the next five years. I believe the foundation courses during MSGB will enhance my knowledge and appreciation of various aspects of managing organizations that I am not conversant with. I am an economics major, and my current role entails financial statement analysis. There are certain aspects of business organizations that I am not conversant. These aspects are adequately covered in the foundation courses of MSGB. Examples of the well elaborated aspects include marketing management and theories and models of organizations. The various courses and workshops on personal and leadership development will enhance my soft skills and leadership skills that are essential in managerial roles. The internship and study abroad will prepare me for my future roles in managing multi-national organizations. Besides, the networks I will create during my internship will create a platform for launching my career in management of multi-national firms.
My ultimate goal is to be of service to society through social entrepreneurship. Therefore, my long term goal is to begin my own business that will create suitable solutions to societal problems within the next fifteen years. Moreover, I intend to apply my theoretical knowledge and the managerial experience that I would have gained by setting up my firm.
