Management
Introduction
Honesty refers to an aspect of moral character and signifies virtuous and positive traits such as sincerity, integrity, and truthfulness. Honesty means being loyal, trustworthy and fair. In this essay, we will discuss how honesty and sincerity in work on a company will help a person to be successful. We will also learn how to practice honesty and sincerity, and what is at stake, for practicing these traits.
Honesty
Honesty is an excellent example of integrity in a company. Honesty promotes open communication among employers, employees and co-employees. This communication leads to effective connections in a company or an organization. When employees are honest about the different phases of their works that need improvement, employers can help and take action. Employers that are honest and open about company policies and modifications that affect the business are most likely to gain trust from employees. Honesty involves leadership values and integrity. This is valuable in the field of business where trustworthy behaviors set the foundation for successful business communication (Scott, n.d.).
Sincerity
Sincerity is one of the essential parts of good behavior in an organization. Practicing and holding on to the golden rules of sincerity will result to ultimate satisfaction with the company, and with the employee’s personal life as well. Working in a company needs to have the most important relationship. An employee’s work needs his complete care and sincerity. If an employee does not care about his work, it will give him a negative relationship. Not practicing sincerity in work can make success far to reach and can destroy an employee’s integrity.
Sincerity to a Company
An employee should devote his full attention to his work in the company to show his sincerity and concern for the business. Being completely involved in a company an employee works in is a requirement for him to perform the tasks assigned to him.
An employee should dedicate himself to his responsibilities when he is in the workplace. An employee should maximize his time and do his job smoothly and firmly. This action will benefit not only the company, but also the employee because both will earn more from a job well-done. An employee should strictly observe the company’s work code of discipline and should not violate the company’s rules and regulations. If the employee violated a certain rule, he should responsibly accept the penalty or action for his violation, and not to commit this violation again.
Going to work early or at least on time every day also involves sincerity in work. If an employee starts his work early or on time, he would be able to complete and provide a good quality of work to the company and to their customers.
Sincerity to Customers
An employee should be honest and truthful in dealing with customers to show them that he is sincere to assist them with their needs. An employee should avoid false promises and should always follow the golden rules of honesty to continue to have customers’ trust and loyalty.
An employee should never deceive the customers. He should not try to deny any defect of their company’s product. Instead, let the customers know about the defect, and briefly present the ways they are doing to correct this defect. In this way, the customers will feel the sincerity coming from the employee and will most likely trust and recommend the company.
An employee should never involve himself to any illegal actions just to hide any mistakes and to show a false performance to the company and to the customers. This may cause a negative reputation to both the employee and the company, and the integrity may be questioned.
Sincerity to Co-employees
An employee should treat his co-worker like a family member. He should be concerned about his co-workers feelings and offer help and assistance, especially if he sees that his co-worker needs it or is having difficulty in his job. Teamwork always results in a good and best quality work and performance. An employee should also be kind and open-minded in working with his co-employees. He should be open to their ideas and advices to improve his own performance. (Khan, 2014).
Practicing honesty and sincerity at work and not false excuses and false promises will help an employee gain respect from co-workers and employers. Honesty will attract people around an employee to deal with him with sincerity and will definitely become honest to him in return. Honesty from an employee will also bring out the faith and trust in people at work. He would be able to work in an environment, which he is sure that there are no lies and false expectations (Siang, n.d.).
Conclusion
Sincerity and honesty at work are the major aspects in order to be successful in a career and in a business. Practicing the golden rules of sincerity and honesty at work will help employees do their jobs correctly and obtain a friendly and trustworthy environment. Being honest at work will help people gain trust from their co-workers, employers and customers. Being sincere at work will assist people in gaining respect from others and will also receive honesty and sincerity in return.
