Personal Strategic Plan
The guiding principle and consequently my mission and vision of my life is to be the best I possibly can and being a source of inspiration to everyone that I meet. I also aim to create a positive impact on the people around me. In summary, I am determined to make sure that I attain full success in both my professional and personal life.
Personal and Professional Goals
In line with my mission and vision, I am majoring in Business administration with the goal of working for Saudi Aramco. I also intend to further and improve my education and acquire masters in Human Resource soon after my graduation. When I fulfil my academic goals, I hope to settle down and start a family. Also after completing my attaining the educational goals and accumulating enough experience on the job I will either decide to follow my plan to start a business personally or join my family business.
Being in Saudi Arabia there are numerous opportunities available. The Saudi economy is among the 25 largest economies globally, and it is also the largest in Middle East and Northern Africa. In addition, a business in Saudi Arabia would be advantaged by the low-cost energy and industrial land use; this is courtesy of government’s generous incentives and subsidies. Finally, Saudi Arabia’s infrastructure is efficient, and the national rail system will further improve the infrastructure.
However, as a woman and intending to conduct my business and career in Saudi Arabia, my primary challenge will be the prevailing cultural attitude towards women. The culture will possibly be the biggest threat to my plans of attaining my goals. The cultural constraints include the fact that women are required to have a male guardian. Such challenges will hamper my plans and targets.
My strengths are numerous and include the fact that I am innovative and regularly come up with creative, unconventional solutions to my problems. In addition, I am courageous and believe in standing up for myself in both my professional and personal life. These and other strengths will provide a base for my goals and success.
My family relationships might be a source of weakness for my professional goals. I believe that the most important relationships are the family relationships. As such, the relationships might impede my professional and business goals should I have to choose between them.
Core Competences
As mentioned earlier, I intend to acquire masters in Human Resource Management this will give me an advantage in my career and in running my business. Furthermore, being a Saudi national I am well familiar with the Saudi Arabian cultures and its nuances. Therefore, I am well placed to take full advantage and use the knowledge to conduct my careers and business successively. Finally, if I decide to join the family business, I will fit in and thrive with ease as I am well acquainted with its operations.
Competitive Advantages
In furthering my education, I aim to have a competitive advantage as contrasted with the rest of the workforce to secure a job after I exit the University. The job should then allow me to accumulate the experience I need in setting up my personal business or joining the family business. My knowledge of the local culture and business practices will assist me in establishing my careers and businesses successfully
My Strategies
My personal strategy revolves around and relies on my strengths and the opportunities available in my environment. My plan is systematic and sequential; first, I will finish my degree and then acquire my masters. The aim of this will to give me the aforementioned advantage over the rest of Saudi Arabian workforce when seeking a job. Then I will work for Saudi Aramco in order to accrue enough experience to start my business or successfully join the family business.
Measuring Progress
In conclusion, there must a measure to ascertain whether I accomplish my goals. As such, to identify whether I am on the track of achieving my plans and goals I will have an annual review of just how my year has reflected on my goals. The analysis shall also include a plan for how I will continue my program the following year.
