Technology is the knowledge of techniques, processes, skills, how they relate to life and how different groups (even social groups) use it to improve their civilization. Some of the technological inventions that took place since 2000 up to 2010 include the invention of YouTube, Ericsson R380, the birth control patch, and the invention of the solar tower. Ericsson R380 was the first known marketed smartphone device that was invented by the Ericsson mobile communications. The smartphone aided in the development of modern communications, and it was the mother of many other smartphone-related inventions. YouTube was invented in 2005 by Steven Chen and it also boosted the entertainment and education sector. The solar tower was an imperative invention in 2002 by Jorg Schlaich. It boosted the energy sector by creating new ways of creation and conservation of energy. The birth control patch is an invention that contributed significantly to the health sector and the improvement of human life through improved delivery methods (Cullingford et al., 46). Positive effects of technology – basing on smartphones
Technology has countless advantages to our society. Think about a life where there was not a single trait of technology. How would it be? It is not even imaginable. Starting with the mechanical processes that take place in our farms, our transport networks, communication and even spirituality, technology is very important. Technology has eased the life among humans, and it has improved our state of our lives. Smartphones can perform many functions other phones cannot do. First, most smartphones have good cameras that enable us to have fun by taking videos and picture when in adventurous places. Secondly, smartphones can access many things that only a computer could have accessed previously. These are like emails, high-class games, going to Facebook, watching movies and moving to o
ther sites on the internet. Smartphones also have given us a chance where you can write short notes; look for your location by google maps, and many other functions.
On the other hand, every cloud has a silver lining. Despite the many advantages of smartphones, it also has some disadvantages. First, is time wastage; many people waste a lot of time on the smartphones probably on the internet and games. Also, children and teenagers that have access to smartphones are prone to moral decay as they are exposed to risks such as pornographic material (Lapsley, 29).
Why technology was developed- smartphones
Technology did not develop like an accident. It started gradually and had been developing and improving continuously since then with response to various needs. There are many reasons as to why technology was developed. For smartphones, the need for better and efficient methods of communication led to their development. For instance, people needed a forum where they can send and receive emails without necessarily having a computer. In the process, the smartphones came to bring many other benefits.
Impacts of technology on human health -smartphones
Technology has many effects on people's health. The recent technological changes have led to the development of modern health maintenance and disease control techniques. Smartphones have had many positive and negative effects on human health. First, it is easy to access health with the help of a good smartphone. You only need to google what you feel and then the suggestions from the internet guide you to receiving good health. Secondly, with a smartphone you can be able to access the best doctors or specialist for the condition. On the other hand, smartphones have very negative impacts on our bodies. The radiations that transmit information from the server to the phone have a bad impact on human cells. At times, men who put their smartphones in the front pockets of their trousers near their reproductive organs find themselves mutating and causing the birth of deformed children. Women also have been prone to breast cancer especially those who put their phones near their breasts.
How the societal, political, and business system have developed alongside technology
The political organization of communities has improved via the help of technology through some reasons. First, is communication; through technologically advanced communication means, leaders can contact their subjects from far distances in a very effective way (Lytras et al., 95). In the ancient times for a king to pass a message to all his countrymen, it would take weeks and months. Today, important political messages reach the desired audience within minutes and seconds. The army system has also been able to develop with the help of technologically advanced fighting equipment. It is through technology that there are grenades, guns, and many other strong weapons. A community or a country that has a strong standing army also has strong political grounds.
The business systems in the world have been boosted a great deal by technology. With the improved transport system, businessmen can transact goods all over the world at a very high speed. Technology has also eased the ability of businessmen to coordinate their communication with fellow businessmen. Unlike the ancient slave trade which took months to complete a single transaction, businessmen can conduct a single trade from across the world within a few hours. Through the development of business and political organization, the social systems in the society also develop by default.
Impacts of technology on Atlanta, Georgia
My hometown is Atlanta, Georgia. This is a state on the east coast of USA, and it was among the first states to become technologically advanced. Technology has laid its ground firmly I this region through many ways. First, there are some modern transport means including the underground train shuttle, air, great roads and also developed underground sea routes, which can avoid the impact of the wind and heavy water currents. Also, it is through the advancement of technology in the region that many learning institutions have come up. For instance, the Georgia Public Library is a highly technologically advanced library. Through the same technology, the sporting activities in Georgia have been boosted. For example, the Georgia teams have been made to grow by the advanced playing grounds, training and equipment. Georgia has also become a historical center as a result of the advancement of technology. Archaeologists have had a basis of increasing their scientific studies and have established the Aqusta museum of history. It is through technology that they can successfully preserve these cultural artefacts well.
