Individuals often portray a personal level bias towards others based various factors such as gender, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, disability of cultural backgrounds. While it is not acceptable to project such bias to people regarding their orientation, it is acceptable to have them as an individual because it is this form of bias that determines one's true personality.
Definition
Cultural diversity refers to the presence of more than one ethnic group of people with different ways of doing things sharing a common resource in an area. This definition came about once man stopped leaving in enclosed communities and started interacting with others from other ethnic groups. It is a formality that represents the social life of human beings in a community.
Main Body
This can be deemed a racist point of view. However, it is important to note that racism is a form of perception that someone projects to another due to their differences. In smaller cases, subtle racism can be observed at first interaction between strangers before they have a chance to know each other and accept their differences.
As a therapist, it is important to realize that cultural diversity is just a formality of how civilization came to be. Human beings are essentially the same only with different ideas and ways of doing things. These variations are what characterizes the different cultures. For a professional, interacting with various people presents an opportunity to tackle problems from various angles of manifestation thus increases our efficiency to deliver quality services.
