The relationship of a manager with his employees within a company is of prime importance. If a manager is in the habit of inquiring too much from his employees, then this will decrease the morale of the employees. This thing will develop a sense of insecurity in employees because they will feel that they are not trustworthy. These feelings will have a bad impact on the overall performance of the employees. It is studied that if the employees are observed or watched too closely, they will lose interest in their jobs. Also, the employees will pay little interest towards the company’s goals and objective and will only perform their job. It is advised that the criminal justice managers should have positive relation with their employees. This thing will result in a better performance of the employees as they will pay more attention towards their jobs.
In my opinion, it is appropriate for the criminal justice managers to show concern about the personal lives of the workers. The manager should have an attitude to listen to the problems of the employees. Moreover, the managers should have complete information about employees’ progress and job role. In case any worker is not performing due to some personal issues, then the manager should have information about this. A good criminal justice manager is a one who listens to the problems of his workers and offers solution to them. Therefore, it is necessary that a criminal justice manager must listen to the problems of his/her employees. This simple attitude will help the criminal justice manager to find out extra possibilities to assist his/her employees according to the circumstances.
Likewise, it is mandatory for a criminal justice manager that he/she must encourage employees to make them sure that they are delivering a good quality work. However, there is absolutely no need to become more anxious or to be worried about the personal side of employees’ lives such as their weekend programs or family issues.
Now the question is that whether this concern necessarily translates into effective leadership in that organization? To answer this particular question, one must comprehend that a happy employee is a happy company. Therefore, if a criminal justice manager is concerned for his employees, then this will eventually lead to effective leadership. In this way, the managers will be in a position to know more about their staff and to take appropriate actions to increase the work efficiency of the employees. If there is an environment of leadership within an organization then the employees will feel more comfortable. They will be able to discuss their issues with their manager; as they will feel that their issues will be addressed.
In a nutshell, the criminal justice managers must care about their representatives. This will help to build leadership within an organization because leadership style reflects qualities, previous encounters, and social molding. However, the criminal managers must not pay attention to the extent that the employees feel annoyed. For this reason, it is mandatory that the criminal justice managers should have leadership skills to enhance the performance of the employees without paying too much concentration on the personal lives of the employees.
