In my own interpretation, I think that it represents the plights of Sisyphus. As a mysterious Greek king, Sisyphus faced lots of challenges. At one time, he had to contend with the forces of nature when he was dealing with a natural phenomenon. After being compelled to push a boulder up the mountain, he was perplexed to see it return to the base of the same mountain. This is quite educative. It sensitizes people on the importance of art as a mirror of the society.
