Introduction
More research needs to be done in the English grammar; this would be more beneficial to the students and the world as a whole for communication purposes. The teachers who teach grammar in different levels in schools should be more educated in the language so that they can give the students a better understanding of the tongue. I believe that more problems may arise when people decide to question grammar. In other areas such as the mathematics, there are given rules that are defined in solving a problem, the procedures of solving a problem are clear. The same should be done when it comes to English as a subject; the language should also have some set of rules and order of procedure for reading and writing to avoid problems that might be experienced by its users.
When I was young, I questioned why some words and rules are used in the grammar, but after going to school, I came to understand that some rules need to write down on any subject, failure to which information can be distorted, and sentences may be misconstrued. Now, the English language is widely taught in the world. This is because of the rise in the rate of migration around the globe due to many reasons such as further studies and so on. Therefore, English is a widely spoken language in the world, there must be given sets of rules that govern it; otherwise, there may be a serious problem in the communication between different people. There should be a standard English that used by all the people around the globe; it should try to merge different English like the American English, British English and Jamaican English so that there is uniformity in the way the language is spoken and written.
All the teachers at different levels of learning should educate the students on a Standard English and detailed set of English grammatical rules. It will be very unfortunate when a student is not in a position to answer a question correctly just because there is diversity in the rules that govern the English language. Grammar is of the essence regarding communication; therefore, it may be saddening when a student makes many grammatical errors. The student may not be to blame; the blame may go to different teachers who teach the same subject with teaching styles that clash. This might, in the long run, affect the students’ grammar. It is for these reasons that the language should have a set of defined standard rules that govern it learning activities.
The English language just like any other subject should be universal in all regions of the world. How a mathematical problem is solved in Europe is the same as to how it is solved in Africa and even Asia, this is contrary to the English language. There is a difference in the styles of the American English and the British English; the differences may be in the form of spelling, pronunciation and even meaning. Take a close look at the pronunciation of a Jamaican; it is very different from how a British pronounces the same word. This may bring communication problems in the world. The English language should, therefore, have a standardized set of rules that define how it should be taught in schools.
It is true from the standard view that the English language must have a very clearly defined standard principles. There are many races and tribes across the world who speak a diverse dialect and so they only way in which all these people can have an effective communication is through a clear kin formation. This means that whatever a word says must be the real thing that someone from another different part of the world speaking of the same thing must agree, understand and identify with the same thing.
