Degree objective:
During my undergraduate years, competition was at its peak so I felt the need to be different and unique from my classmate. This is why I worked harder in every aspect of my life especially because I was an average student. I started to participate in extracurricular activities organized by the dental college or outside during my years of study in order to gain more experience.
I started to participate as an organizer and participant in the activities closing and graduation ceremony of KAU faculty of dentistry throughout my time as an undergraduate. I also worked in the Saudi dental society as an organizer because of my feeling of responsibility towards society as a dentist. I learned many things about myself and the needs of our society besides knowing several people in my line of profession with variant experiences and backgrounds. I also had an exposure in many other societies and events such as the annual of talented doctor exhibition, Saudi Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dental Opal Clinics and Continuum Educations Center.
I believe my unique blend of experiences and my love for travel have made me an individual with an original point of view. Evidently, this blend has given me a broader perspective of life besides helping me formulate my life goals. At one point, I had training in McGill for almost two months partially with students and had an encounter with different cultures with open-mindedness. Additionally, I have an observership experience in Boston University and Nova Southwestern University.
Admittedly, I have always had an interest in the field of research, and this explains why I participated in many researches in order to gain the knowledge and stand the basic concepts efficiently. As a demonstrator in the Oral Pathology and Medicine Department at Umm Al Qura University, my primary responsibilities included diagnosing and managing oral hard and soft tissue diseases. However, I must admit that the scope of my work is quite limited because this department is fairly new in our school. Nonetheless, I have still made a remarkable effort to gain the knowledge and information needed to improve my skills in this job; this include working as a teaching assistant for students. Through these experiences, I have learnt to appreciate the importance of organization and effective communication skills, and I have also realized my passion for education and the need for new modalities of teaching.
Once I get started with your program, my objective is to work on creating new concepts of teaching, which, apparently, will be the next move in my career. My ambition is to be an oral pathology pioneer in my country, teaching a new generation of experts in the field. Your graduate program in oral maxillofacial pathology is the ideal program for me with regards to the pursuit of my career and goals.
