My fascination with the intricate puzzles of global finance, burgeoning in the international business world today, truly sparked and unfolded when I traveled to England. This opportunity afforded me pause to better understand how business principles, theories, and practice come together in all sorts of ways. Nowadays the issues of politics, business, and economics are being intently discussed, and are ubiquitous as ever in the world today. Oddly enough, I would love to more deeply be a part of the business mechanisms, both on the worldwide level and in terms of ethical leadership development. As a senior currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in business at Bowling Green State University (BGSU), which is also my choice of graduate studies curriculum, I feel grateful to have already developed a personal relationship with some of the top professors on campus here. These general experiences have led me to reach higher and broader, in pursuit of being adequately prepared as a business professional. So, I made it my goal to gain the training, certification, experience, and knowledge needed to persistently explore the workings of organizations in terms of their external and internal environments.
My foundational academic work at Bowling Green State University centered, of course, upon Business Administration. However, my specialization revolved around my curiosity and skill set aimed at the Finance sector. I have had a great time exploring studying at BGSU in this program, although as an international student I sometimes felt that my professional experience could have reached further – in terms of feeling more comfortably adept at gaining more experience in the financial end of the business world. Being an international student myself has certainly forced me to confront my personal challenges. But overall, I have remained steadily focused on my career objective which is to become an effective and established financial advisor.
For example, my work experience background as a volunteer at the Bowling Green State University allowed me to perform well in registration of all teams in the Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology Robotics Competition. I can tell you, that was exciting and something I will not easily forget. The responsibilities of checking dimensions, and conditions, for each robotic team’s qualification status, gave me a sense of pride and encouraged a great sense of responsibility in precision – which is a key ingredient to assess any financial business environment.
Advancing forward from there, I worked as a bakery employee from September of 2015, to January 2016 at BGSU. This position in the Dining Services department provided an opportunity for me to actually directly engage in budgetary matters. My duties in this position happily gave me a chance to budget for materials usage to ensure efficiency, and help control preparations of over ten cookie-types on a daily basis. Furthermore, I provided assistance with cutting, and bagging orders with co-workers to meet clients’ needs. I truly believe that the broad base of my work and academic life, thus far, would be a good fit to matriculate in Bowling Green State University’s graduate MBA program. I understand that the BGSU MBA program typically has a diverse student body, small class sizes, while remaining quite competitive. The push for gaining a high level of proficiency in practical skill development is important to me.
Most recently, in my work as a Computer Lab Assistant at BGSU, I handled office supplies distribution for each lab-sector, did troubleshoot oversight of hardware/software application malfunctions, and had the responsibility of scheduled maintainance of programs and equipment. I think my coordination of these skills will blend well with the BGSU MBA program offerings of modules dealing with leadership assessment, international business principles, and building a foundation of teamwork while gaining knowledge in written reports and negotiation in political situations. Since I am already familiarized with the fine faculty at BGSU, my expectations of the rigors and curricular styles are almost second nature. Particularly impressive, is the Finance Specialization coursework, offering a plethora of elective choices focusing on risk management, international aspects, and personal financial planning. Today’s financial and international business world may be akin to finding one’s way through a complex maze.
In any case, my reasons for choosing the BGSU MBA program include my dedication to hard work, the solid foundation of the graduate business course expectations, fulfillment of personal growth, and my ability to make a unique contribution by virtue of my background. My proven commitment and standards of perseverance in the Bowling Green State University system hopefully will enhance my career objective of becoming an astute, highly capable and established financial advisor. My drive to achieve greater financial knowledge, research experience, and communication skills to assist clients with portfolio management require the investment of a solid, specialized education. I believe my skills in public speaking, the MS Word Suite, Apple computer literacy, accounting knowledge, strategy development, Minitab, budgeting, SAP, and customer service oriented personality will appropriately integrate into the MBA program at BGSU.
I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you.
