Strategic Plan Reform and Modernization Implications
The strategic plan I am working on has a great deal of relevance to me and my work area. It has the potential to not only save me time and effort, if effectuated it has the potential to clarify how I approach my work in such a manner to impact upon how I approach my future work issues. The link it has to the general operational plans will provide a greater interface between my individual work product and the entire organization and may have the potential for expansion within my department and to other departments as well.
I have already identified the resources required to develop and deliver my plan. However, once instituted it may also provided additional potential for expansion. In this event, I will need to modify it and because of this, I may need to develop further resources in order to implement it to its fullest potential.
One of the finest qualities is its inclusion of provisions for improving leadership as well as improving operations. In order to further improve upon my strategic plan I need to garner greater involvement of the leadership Then I need to discuss the plan further with the front line individuals who will be using the new plan in their day-to-day work. Finally, I need to involve the middle management for two reasons; they will have further ideas on how to improve my plan and I want to institute a “sense of ownership” which will reduce resistance to my strategic plan.
I do have an operational plan however; it may need modification depending upon the feedback I receive when I present my plan. In this event, the new operational plan should include additional provisions to incorporate these ideas and respect the concerns that others may have.
My goals, objectives and priorities in these strategic and operational plans are linked in such a manner as to improve existing operations and provide for future revisions without disrupting the organization’s daily functions.
