The Mettl’s Leadership Assessment tool is a leadership talent identification platform that helps organizations and individuals develop their desirability traits. The tests have a special formulation that complies with globally acclaimed leadership test construction requirements. Two of the most reputable influences include the British Psychological Society and the American Psychological Association. The tool uses various psychological theories such as the Big Five Personality model, Bass’ leadership styles model, and the Item response theory (Mettl, 2016).
The motive behind this tool is that organizations largely depend on their leaders for overall success. The tool developers further identify a challenge in today’s leadership in measuring one’s leadership potential and identifying the correct persons for the task at hand. Such events would benefit from Mettl as an appropriate tool with a future-fronted approach. That is, Mettl teaches that success in leadership demands HR managers to tap into the best talents available in the job market. Therefore, it is the responsibility of individual workers to hone their talents and mitigate weaknesses in ways that drive them towards becoming admirable leaders (Mettl, 2016).
In my capacity, I would use this tool to help my organization in the recruitment and selection processes of the correct candidates for managerial positions. I would also use the tool to identify the gaps present in my profile and prepare appropriately for future placements. Third, I acknowledge the fact that Mettl is ideal for talent maximization. Finally, Mettl remains relevant for identifying areas worth training and development at the organizational level (Thomson, 2013).
At the organizational level, the Mettl leadership potential assessment would help HR managers in the health care setup to profile their employee’s behavioral capabilities required for managerial positions. The tool will concentrate on measuring this candidate’s collaboration skills, team dynamics, work management, and organizational acumen. This process remains efficient in revealing personalities, enhancing personal strengths, and limiting weaknesses (Thomson, 2013).
