In this article, suicide is defined as the act of intentionally causing one’s own death. It also provides many factors that play a key role in causing someone to commit suicide. This source relates to my topic well because it not only helps others to understand what is suicide, but also what factors that could lead to this kind of behavior.

In this study, Adolescent Suicide Attempter: What Prevents Future Suicidal Acts? 92 adolescent suicide attempters were used to predict suicide attempts that were repeated over a nine-year period. Four factors were analyzed during this study. Four of the factors were noted to have a predictive effect. These factors consisted of hopelessness, cornorbid disorders, hopelessness, and mental or behavior problems. Another factor which played into this prediction was having a father that controlled without the use of affection.
This source relates to my topic from the aspect of what are some of the actual causes of suicide. It also provides concrete evidence that can be used to support assertions made in my report.

This source analyzes youth that were recently put on probation for current suicide proneness, depression, and hopelessness. Within this study, certain elements were used to assess suicide proneness such as The Life Attitudes Schedule-Short Form. Based upon the information obtain within this form, the study was able to report that a history of suicide attempts greatly associated with suicide proneness. Gender differences were also reviewed as well in relation to suicide proneness.
This study is relevant to my research because it helps to provide me with adequate information that relates to the history of suicidal attempts. It also provides effective data based upon gender differences. Interviews were also conducted among the youths to gain a broader view of their previous suicide attempts.
