In most cases a power differential complex always ensue whenever there is a power difference in a situation encompassing a leader and a subject making agreement between the two parties particularly complicated. Converse to this analogy, Mr. x case was one that never involved any power differential between him and his subjects. From the outward look, he appears to be a forceful individual with a temperament close to that of a no-joke supervisor- a lasting impression that has since been imbedded in my memory even after the realization that he is the exert opposite of what I perceived him to be at first sight. Despite the technicalities that are involved in describing an exemplary supervisor, I will, by all means, try to give an all-encompassing description of Mr. X.
To a great extent, I admire Mr. X impeccable problem solving techniques. I view him as a person who compulsively reasons out any problem before formulating his ever plausible solutions to the problems. He is always slow to act; a trait that I borrowed from him and has always enabled me to make meaning out of any problem apart from enhancing my patience to matters pertaining to the formulation of sound solutions. Further, I envision how Mr. X associates with his juniors. He is in possession of above- reproach communication skills that enable him to effectively communicate with all and sundry, skills that make him stand above a plethora of other supervisors. Needless to say, many supervisors have come in the open to commend Mr. X for his tactful leadership skills. Despite being a determined team player, he is academically versatile with excellent analytical abilities which render him in constant admiration of his peers.
Despite his demanding work schedule, Mr. X has not been deterred from being involved in community services. On top of playing organ to his local church, his records display that he has constantly volunteering to children homes. Moreover, he has also volunteered in environmental conservation activities in which he was involved in planting soil covers to prevent soil erosion, setting up of tree nurseries, and tree planting.
Many people join the military because of the lucrative salary package and the entitled to the military men. To Mr. X, being in the military, specifically the air force, is not about the money but rather a matter of voluntary service to one’s country. He asserts this with regards to the risks involved in being in the military; a virtue that he constantly instills to us, his subjects. Truly, when viewed critically, for one to be successful military man, one should understand that serving one's country in the most precious gift one can accord to his or her country and the service can only be accorded voluntary without being tied to the returns accruable from such a service.
Being a supervisor requires more than just mere job commitment. Supervisors can either be authoritarian, democratic or laizzes faire. However, supervisors who exhibit a combination of all the above mentioned leaderships styles are in most cases considered impeccable. From the above statement, it is evident that Mr. X stands out to be the best-qualified candidate for the supervisor position. He manages to exhibit a combination of all the three leadership approaches. Besides, he possesses excellent communications skills, both written and spoken, that enable him relate to virtually everyone. I regard him as the most outstanding supervisor that has ever supervised me.
