Supply Chain
What type of strategic fit do you think they have (have or do they have any?)
The company should adopt the 4PLS strategy since it is appropriate in distributing its products. The organization projects to boosts its supply of coffee and choosing the method will enable it to increase its consumer’s base and supply over a great locality. Additionally, the company expects to ship its coffee products to the overseas markets, and the 4PL provides knowledge that accumulates resources, capabilities, and technology to operate a supply chain solution (Lavoie, 2013). For that reason, Mr. Coffee suppliers will be able to improve technologically through reaching different markets. Moreover, the 4PL takes over the logistic section of the company. For instance, if the company needs raw materials for its processing activities, the 4PL system will manage the total logistic operation for the raw materials business (Supply Chain Brain, 2012). Additionally, the approach is suitable since it enables the company’s procurement team to solve the organization’s procurement flaws. For instance, the procurement team through the business’s auditor general will be able to scrutinize the company’s procurement books. Additionally, the 4PL procedure will enable the organization to store its products safely without any difficulty. The coffee organization will improve its distribution links through opening their depots in various parts of the globe to intensify the company’s sales.
In this day and age of high-end coffee machines, Keurig’s, etc. how are they surviving (or are they)?
The company needs to improve on some things to ensure they beat the competition from companies with quality production machines. For example, if the corporation is supplying its products to different nations; it must comply with their regulations to avoid conflicts (Lavoie, 2013). Furthermore, the organization needs to create an impressive image with various countries’ administrations to attract a greater market share compared to its competitors. Additionally, to lure the government’s alliance with them, the organization needs to follow every business regulations to avoid breaching that may cause commotions. The organization needs to sensitize the human resource team to hire skilled labor to improve the quality of production of coffee. Further, the skilled labor will enable the organization to counter competition from other well-developed coffee firms.
If we were in charge of redesigning Mr. Coffee’s strategy, what would you do to ensure they did not become a commodity as suggested by the articles?
The company management needs to engage its employees in the improvement procedures. For instance, the coffee organization needs to teach its employees the modern production techniques to ensure the manufacture of high-quality products, which may allow it gain a larger market share compared to its competitors (Lavoie, 2013). Moreover, the organization needs to sensitize its workers the essence of working hard. Thus, hard work may improve the productivity of the organization. The company’s management team needs to spell out its goals and objectives to the employees. For that reason, the employees will understand the objectives of the organization and work towards attaining it.
How could you segment them in the coffee maker marketplace?
I will divide them among the leading coffee makers due to the approach they have taken in managing their distribution and management activities. For example, the 4PL method will improve the supply chain of the company to the overseas markets.
How would you manage the talent within your employees?
I will intensify the training programs to ensure the younger and novice workers acquire the appropriate productions skills. Equally, I will increase the organization of workshops and exhibition to ensure workers gain necessary skills to improve their production skills. The company needs to motivate and spell out the company’s goals to the employees to ensure they uplift their talent to fit the caliber of the organization.
