Graduate education provides an opportunity to expand academic horizons, to learn practical skills for real world applications, and affords the opportunity to do advanced research and influence future generations of students in a given field. A master’s degree in Sustainable Environmental Management will afford me the opportunity to conduct research, advance my knowledge of the field and study with some of the finest faculty in the profession. I will be able to advance my knowledge in a vibrant profession that has implications for a broad range of industries and services that are used daily by millions of people throughout the world.

My graduate education in Management and Entrepreneurial eBusiness has prepared me to face the many challenges that await me in both the academic and professional realm. I have always been an active learner and enjoy reading diverse topics ranging from philosophy to psychology. The degree has taught me many skills, including the knowledge necessary to find market-oriented innovations, creation of value, and the implementation of new business models. I have always been very interested in research and would be particularly interested to assist in any research conducted by the faculty in order to incorporate my background into environmental management. By utilizing my management and entrepreneurial background, I hope to make a significant contribution to the field of environmental sustainability. Ultimately, practical solutions to environmental challenges must be grounded in traditional management models and entrepreneurial endeavors in order for them to become incorporated into people’s daily lives.
The degree in Sustainable Environmental Management would open up many career opportunities. The training in science, environment, and management that it provides serves many professions, and is applicable in commerce, consultancy, and government jobs. The enormous amount of flexibility of the degree enables the holder to branch out and discover areas beyond their immediate expertise, and in turn expand the scope of enterprise and discover novel solutions to old problems.
My ultimate goal is to incorporate my management experience into the field of environmental sustainability. Management of environmental sustainability issues is currently one of the most pressing fields of research. By using my background in management and ebusiness, I hope to add the knowledge of corporate management structure to environmental management. By blending these two areas of learning, environmental management will gain a market-based perspective that will be able to advance the field further. This master’s degree will provide me with the broad background that will be required to analyze the environment and propose solutions to its benefit.
In both my short and long term goals, I will leverage the education and contacts that I form to maximize my personal productivity. In turn, this will allow me to maximize the advantage I am able to provide for environmental sustainability. The flexibility of the degree enables the holder to branch out and discover areas beyond their immediate expertise, and in turn expand the scope enterprise and discover novel solutions to old problems. Using my experiences I expect to benefit the rest of the student body while I am studying towards my Master’s degree. In the future I would hope to contribute to the program by being an able and skilled alumni, ready to help incoming students and to provide a role model to progressing students. The diverse experiences I’ve had will enrich and inform the student body of an expanding and dynamic frontier. In sum, my participation in the program will be of benefit to the faculty and my colleagues, just as I expect to learn vast amounts from both the faculty and colleagues.
