The world is made off different living beings, among these are the humans. The living beings occupying the earth relate to each other. Some do it actively and others don’t. Among those who relate actively is the human race.
Like with other living beings, such relations might be carried out amicably and thus peace reigns. However, there are times when this is not so. When this state occurs, disagreements results and the good peace enjoyed is no more. What comes out of this, is the realization that, disagreements always happen when one group tries to oppress the other. Continuous oppression, often of the poor by the rich or the workers by the owners of means of production leads to the most obvious outcome-protest. The oppressed will become impatient, and then get angry. Their anger and discomfort will build to a boiling point. When they cannot hold it anymore, it busts inform of strikes and protest.
Protests have been common from time in memorial. From protesting, benefits have been achieved. The emancipation and the eventual freedom of the blacks of the black race in America for example was achieved through such protest led by martin Luther king. From the above discussion therefore, we look at the liberating nature of protests.
Carefully planned protests have helped liberate the various oppressed groups of the human race from continued oppression. Through protest, people have found peace. However, protests come with great risks. Like we find out, protest especially political ones are always faced with brutality from government’s instruments of coercion. This is especially so in democracy deficient states where people lose lives at the hands of the governments’ machineries. Through protests workers have lost their jobs and university students suspended or expelled from the universities.
What emerges after all this is that, though successful protests are faced with heavy stumbling blocks, the results are always of great help to both the protesters and their successers.protests are perilous but the results are worth the trouble. Through protests there has been regime change, change of oppressive policies and with the workers, good terms of services have been put in place.
Like discussed above, successful protest are an art and a strategy. The perils that go with it requires that protest be guided by clear reasons and be organized by informed and courageous minds. In so doing, unity of the members involved should be guaranteed so as not to have some victimized. When this is done, protests become effective and helpful in liberating the oppressed.
In concussion therefore, we come to the realization that in any society human relations may not always be cordial. When this happens, means of correcting the situation becomes necessary, and when all the other means such as discussion fails, protest becomes the last glimpse of hope before fighting becomes an option
