Classic English Literature
In the contemporary world, there are many articles written by individuals and corporate to address various issues ranging from economic, political to social issues. These articles have captured the attention of classic English literature which seeks to analyze the article through a critical process of writing a comprehensive summary and response to a particular article or journal. This desertion seeks to write a critical summary and response on three particular articles. Among them include, The Perils of Social Media, A Cruel Trade, and
The Perils of Social Media is an article written by N.B. who claims that the use of social media has led to unethical approach in Southwest Airline. The article claims that the use of facebook led to the company charging more than once in a particular ticket. Moreover, the article articulates that use of the social media has resulted to mishandling of passengers with infirmities. Moreover, the use of the companies facebook page also have raised varied controversies due to complains posted by customers which are discredited by the company’s employee and the management team. The story of the passage said to have been mistreated or abused by the employee raised a lot of concern to in the public hence requiring the Alaska airline to publically apologize to the patient, and even the airline had to offer a free ticket as a means of compensation. The article proposes that companies involving the provision of public services should be aware of negative social media and take immediate response to the situation.
First I completely agree with the author of The Perils of Social Media that companies should ensure that they conduct their practices in an ethical manner. This means that they have to treat each customer with respect and integrity without any discrimination of the basis of disability, gender, or social status. Moreover, in case of negative social media companies should respond to the situation immediately in an ethical manner so as to continue building a positive image of the company.
The articles A Cruel trade does not only assert that child trafficking is illegal, but also the article articulate that the practice is cruel and unacceptable. The article mainly discusses the concept of child trafficking in China where the people usually have family unions on the month of February 10th every year. Unluckily some of the families do not enjoy these reunions due to the Chinese one-child decree that have seen so many children being trafficked out of the country. The article claims such individuals as Mr. Xiao have campaigned vigorously to create awareness of the adverse effects of child trafficking, which is eminent in China. The article blames the government for the persistent increase in child trafficking. Moreover, people have used social media to share information and create augmented public attention on the case of child abduction in the country and create pressure among anti-trafficking police to take their responsibility. In addition, the article urges the government to put more efforts in creating a child abduction free China.
In my own opinion, the government policy in China that ensures parents are allowed only to have a solitary child has greatly contributed to the increased level of child abduction. Child abduction should be abolished in any countries since it results to unforeseen suffering of either the child or the parent. The bond established between a parent and a child is very strong and, therefore; attempts to break this bond should be countered by either the public through spreading of awareness using social websites. The government should also take an initiative to approve policies that engage anti-trafficking police in their work to counter child abduction. In addition, child abduction and trafficking is an inhumane act, therefore; the government should come up with legitimate ways child adoption that enable parents to constantly speak or stay in contact with their children.
Lastly, The Man With The Might Microphone is an article explaining the politics of Ecuador elections especially featuring the main politician and the preceding president for the last six years, Rafael Correa. Rafael Correa in his reign has achieved various development including educational institutions and health centers. Rafael Correa is also a renowned economist who has applied his knowledge in ensuring Ecuador sustainability. The article articulates Rafael as an admirable politician with good communication skills as he strives to acquire another period to rule Ecuador. In addition, he has used his knowledge to rewrite new laws in the constitution.
Analyzing the situation of Rafael Correa, every person should posses’ vigilant and increased knowledge while referring to a group of people or while seeking to make a certain impact. The article shows that in order to make an impact on people mind either in terms of an advertisement or appealing to the public one has to have enough communication capabilities and admirable qualities based on experience and achievements.
