Before discussing communicational barriers, it is important to define basic definition of communication. Communication is a way to convey your message, ideas and feelings through writing, Speaking and gesturing respectively to your team members. Usually, it is considered as the most simple as it appeals but some barriers make it more complex.
There are several barriers, which create challenges for effective communication. Most important barriers, which are considered throughout the world, are Physical, emotional, cultural, language, interpersonal, gender and perceptual. Language barrier was barrier that created challenge for our team. Language barrier was chosen because everyone has different mother tongue in our team; we were five team members. Language barrier results due to different ground of team members by having different language. Whenever people from different language communicate with each other, they find difficulties such as some might share ideas, some might hesitate to communicate, and some might be shy.
For instance, suppose an example of real life that three years back we shifted in new apartments; all newly constructed and new residents. One day I went to basketball court near to our apartment. No one was playing but I found four teenagers. All were looking to each other strangely. I initiated to communicate could we play game. Three replied in yes by shaking their head and one spoke yes. When we began our game, five people came to us and ask would you like play with us. We communicate with each but do not come up with decision. On the way to home, we discussed with each other and made strategies about match; we were not new players of basketball. Two days later having good practice, we played with that team but unfortunately loss. The reason was miscommunication, unclear message and not making clear gesture. Due to language diversity, we could not pass ball accurately even we were known to each other we remembered the names of every team member. In this way language barriers created challenge for effective communication of our team
