Introduction:
It is very important for managers to manage their team efficiently to produce great results. Teamwork is much required to complete various tasks, projects and for the success of any organization. Any project or process requires involvement of various team members having different skills and experiences which sometimes lead to conflict among team members. It is prime responsibility of the manager to keep all team members connected and avoid or resolve any form of conflict between the team members.
Discussion:
The first important thing for a manager is reflection of his managing style which is human resource management. I personally believe in adopting collaborative approach. I select the team member based on the skills and aspirations that they are having. Each team member has clear idea about his or her tasks, goals, responsibilities and processes. I always believe in keeping communication two ways. This style allows team members to express their thought ideas, increase their motivation and commitment towards the work. They perform the tasks with and enthusiasm because it is their area of interest.
Employees who are working in a team are very sensitive in respect of conflicts. I believe in resolving conflicts by using collaborative approach as I find it best not only in resolving conflict but also in bringing effectiveness and employee empowerment. At any given point if I face any conflicting situation, I try to resolve it by collaborative approach but if situation demands I will not mind changing my style to competing or compromising. Each conflict is having different scenario and different people involved hence I cannot use same style for every situation. I have to be little flexible while managing a team and conflict situation.
