Personally, I strongly believe that the most crucial invention that will alter the outlook of the universe is the internet. Internet can therefore be defined as the universal linkage of individual networks which are controlled by the government, industry, academic institutions and even private individuals. Currently, majority of people have access to the internet and the number is growing bigger as the days are elapsing. Internet has made it practically easy for the access of important information by the ordinary and everyday individuals within the contemporary societies and even across the world as a whole. Therefore this idea of sharing information across the universe has altered the world tremendously. Currently we can contact people from various nations of the world without any difficulty. Due to the invention of internet, we are in a position to look and even reach to the information, share our thought and ideas, buy and sell the products and more importantly staying in touch with the hordes of humanity across the universe.
Internet is instrumental for business. It has a universal connection and universal customers. Through internet, customers do not need to be in traffic jams, struggle for a parking facilities and space, and even walk from one place to another while searching and even inspecting products. Customers also need not to consume their time and energy to the various stores only to be disappointed that the products are out of stock. Currently, internet is the most efficient business since it is operational at all times. It is also relatively cheap to market the goods and services through the internet as compared to the traditional methods of product marketing. These social networks depend on the web and they provide ways of socializing through the internet. These sites, especially the Facebook, Myspace and even twitter enables people to share out their ideas, actions and their likes and dislikes with those people within their networks. A social network which depends on the internet has encouraged the connection of people with the same interests and even activities within the context of political, economical and geographical. In the past few years, the social networks were meant for official and casual communication and entertainment, but of late they have had a great value in the social and political movements of particular nations or countries. For instance, during revolution in Egypt, social networks such as Face book and Twitter played an instrumental position in the maintaining individuals to remain connected to the revolt.
Through internet, it is possible to text, chat through video and send email faster and instantly. For example, those spouses whose loved ones are abroad can easily communicate through a Skype which is a form of video chat. Generally, it is very easy, reliable, and convenient and even cheaper as compared to phone calls. All they require is the internet connection on both ends. Internet has removed the conventional usage of mails in communication.
Other inventions which have proved to be of great impotence towards the positive global shaping are the satellites and even medical applications of the technology. But personally i feel that the invention and the application of internet have united in the sharing of information. Internet has also tremendously alterd the universe within the short time since its invention. It has for sure inflicted a huge effect on the society that people can no longer remember how they could work and even survive in case internet was not invented.
